Wireless communication device and method for use therewith
View Patent ↗An image of at least one object ( 14 ) is captured. An object class selection is received from a menu ( 70 ) of a plurality of object classes. At least one task menu specific to the object class selection is provided. A task selection is received from the at least one task menu. A task associated with the at least one object ( 14 ) is facilitated based on the image and the task selection.
1. A wireless communication device comprising:
a digital camera for capturing an image;
a user input interface that includes a display device for:
displaying an object class menu on the display device, the object class menu having a plurality of object classes including a person class, a product class and an event class;
interacting with the user to select one of the plurality of object classes from the object class menu;
receiving a selection of the person class indicating that the image is of a person and displaying a task menu on the display device, the task menu including a plurality of tasks that are based on the selected one of the plurality of object classes; and
receiving a selection of a task of the plurality of tasks, wherein the task includes contacting the person; and
a wireless transceiver, coupled to the digital camera and the user input interface, the wireless transceiver for communicating with a server system via communication with the computer network to facilitate the task based on the selection of the person class and a recognition of the person in the image, wherein facilitating the task includes determining contact information for the person.
2. The wireless communication device of claim 1 wherein the user input interface further receives a name associated with the person;
wherein facilitating the task is further based on the name.
3. The wireless communication device of claim 2 wherein receiving the name includes receiving a user-spoken name.
4. The wireless communication device of claim 1 wherein the task includes sending physical mail to the person.
5. The wireless communication device of claim 1 wherein facilitating the task includes sending a message to the person.
6. The wireless communication device of claim 1 wherein facilitating the task includes placing a call to the person.
7. The wireless communication device of claim 1 wherein facilitating the task includes placing a video call to the person.
8. A wireless communication device comprising:
a digital camera for capturing an image;
a user input interface that includes a display device for:
displaying an object class menu on the display device, the object class menu having a plurality of object classes including a person class, a product class and an event class;
interacting with the user to select one of the plurality of object classes from the object class menu;
receiving a selection of the person class indicating that the image is of a person and displaying a task menu on the display device, the task menu including a plurality of tasks that are based on the selection of the person class; and
receiving a selection of a task of the plurality of tasks, wherein the task includes arranging an event with the person; and
a wireless transceiver, coupled to the digital camera and the user input interface, the wireless transceiver for communicating with a server system via communication with the computer network to facilitate the task based on the selection of the person class and a recognition of the person in the image, wherein facilitating the task includes determining contact information for the person.
9. The wireless communication device of claim 8 wherein the user input interface further receives a name associated with the person;
wherein facilitating the task is further based on the name.
10. The wireless communication device of claim 9 wherein receiving the name includes receiving a user-spoken name.
11. The wireless communication device of claim 8 wherein the task includes arranging a meal with the person.
12. The wireless communication device of claim 8 wherein the task includes arranging a date with the person.
13. The wireless communication device of claim 8 wherein the task includes arranging a meeting with the person.
14. The wireless communication device of claim 8 wherein the event includes seeing a movie with the person.
15. The wireless communication device of claim 8 wherein facilitating the task includes sending a message to the person.
16. The wireless communication device of claim 8 wherein facilitating the task includes placing a call to the person.
17. The wireless communication device of claim 8 wherein facilitating the task includes placing a video call to the person.
18. The wireless communication device of claim 8 wherein the task includes arranging an introduction to the person.
19. A wireless communication device comprising:
a wireless transceiver for placing and receiving telephone calls and for communicating with an internet;
a digital camera for capturing a digital image;
a display device, coupled to the digital camera, for displaying the digital image;
a user input interface that includes a display device for:
displaying an object class menu on the display device, the object class menu having a plurality of object classes including a person class, a product class and an event class;
interacting with the user to select one of the plurality of object classes from the object class menu;
receiving a selection of the person class indicating that the image is of a person and displaying a task menu on the display device, the task menu including a plurality of tasks that are based on the selection of the person class; and
receiving a selection of a task of the plurality of tasks, wherein the task includes contacting the person; and
a processor, coupled to the digital camera, the display device, the wireless transceiver and the user input interface, for facilitating the task based on the selection of the person class and a recognition of the person in the image, wherein facilitating the task includes determining contact information for the person.
20. The wireless communication device of claim 19 wherein the user input interface further receives a name associated with the person;
wherein facilitating the task is further based on the name.
21. The wireless communication device of claim 20 wherein receiving the name includes receiving a user-spoken name.
22. The wireless communication device of claim 19 wherein the task includes sending physical mail to the person.
23. The wireless communication device of claim 19 wherein facilitating the task includes sending a message to the person.
24. The wireless communication device of claim 19 wherein facilitating the task includes placing a call to the person.
25. The wireless communication device of claim 19 wherein facilitating the task includes placing a video call to the person.
26. The wireless communication device of claim 19 wherein the task includes arranging an introduction to the person.
27. A wireless communication device comprising:
a wireless transceiver for placing and receiving telephone calls and for communicating with an internet;
a digital camera for capturing a digital image;
a display device, coupled to the digital camera, for displaying the digital image;
a user input interface that includes a display device for:
displaying an object class menu on the display device, the object class menu having a plurality of object classes including a person class, a product class and an event class;
interacting with the user to select one of the plurality of object classes from the object class menu;
receiving a selection of the person class indicating that the image is of a person and displaying a task menu on the display device, the task menu including a plurality of tasks that are based on the selection of the person class; and
receiving a selection of a task of the plurality of tasks, wherein the task includes arranging an event with the person; and
a processor, coupled to the digital camera, the display device, the wireless transceiver and the user input interface, for facilitating the task based on the selection of the person class and a recognition of the person in the image, wherein facilitating the task includes determining contact information for the person.
28. The wireless communication device of claim 27 wherein the user input interface further receives a name associated with the person;
wherein facilitating the task is further based on the name.
29. The wireless communication device of claim 28 wherein receiving the name includes receiving a user-spoken name.
