Abstract

An inkjet printer includes a print medium cartridge storing a print medium roll, the roll including a former carrying a wound length of a print medium; an inkjet printhead assembly including an inkjet printhead having a plurality of micro-electromechanical inkjet nozzles for printing onto the print medium; a print medium feed arrangement for feeding print medium from the roll to the inkjet printhead assembly; a baffle unit defining a plurality of ink channels through which ink is transported to the inkjet printhead, the baffle unit including a plurality of slats provided in each ink channel, the plurality of slats adapted to reduce an acceleration of ink within a respective ink channel; and an ink feeder received within the baffle unit, the ink feeder defining a plurality of passages each fed from a respective ink channel of the baffle unit, each passage arranged to feed a respective type of ink to the printhead.

Claims (8)

1 . An inkjet printer comprising:

a print medium cartridge storing a print medium roll, the roll including a former carrying a wound length of a print medium;

an inkjet printhead assembly including an inkjet printhead having a plurality of micro-electromechanical inkjet nozzles for printing onto the print medium;

a print medium feed arrangement for feeding print medium from the roll to the inkjet printhead assembly;

a baffle unit defining a plurality of ink channels through which ink is transported to the inkjet printhead, the baffle unit including a plurality of slats provided in each ink channel, the plurality of slats adapted to reduce an acceleration of ink within a respective ink channel; and

an ink feeder received within the baffle unit, the ink feeder defining a plurality of passages each fed from a respective ink channel of the baffle unit, each passage arranged to feed a respective type of ink to the printhead.

2 . An inkjet printer as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the inkjet nozzles are arranged to form a plurality of sets and the inkjet printhead is mounted within the elongate channel so that each set is in fluid communication with a respective passage.

3 . An inkjet printer as claimed in claim 2 , further comprising a filter arranged to filter ink provided to the passages.
