Abstract

A liquid crystal display device having a touch panel and a front window which can enhance reliability thereof and facilitates repair thereof is provided. The touch panel and the front window are mounted on a liquid crystal display device using a thermoplastic adhesive material. Electronic parts are arranged on a lower side of a touch-panel-use flexible printed circuit board, and electronic parts are arranged on a lower side of a main flexible printed circuit board. The respective electronic parts are covered with the front window in a plan view. A light emitting diode is mounted on the main flexible printed circuit board, and faces a light guide plate in a resin mold. Due to such a constitution, an external shape of the liquid crystal display device can be made small as a whole, and relatively expensive light emitting diodes can be reproduced and reused by repair.

Claims (29)

1. A liquid crystal display device comprising:

a liquid crystal display panel and a backlight which are accommodated in a resin mold;

a touch panel which is adhered to the liquid crystal display panel; and

a front window which is adhered to the touch panel, wherein

a main flexible printed circuit board is connected to the liquid crystal display panel, a touch-panel-use flexible printed circuit board is connected to the touch panel,

electronic parts arranged on the touch-panel-use flexible printed circuit board are arranged on a side opposite to the front window, and electronic parts arranged on the main flexible printed circuit board are arranged on a side opposite to the front window,

the main flexible printed circuit board is folded back to a back surface of the resin mold, a light emitting diode is arranged on a portion of the main flexible printed circuit board which is folded back to the back surface of the resin mold, and the light emitting diode is accommodated in an area in the resin mold which is covered by the portion of the main flexible printed circuit board which is folded back, which light emitting diode forms a portion of the backlight,

the touch-panel-use flexible printed circuit board is connected to the main flexible printed circuit board, and is folded back to the back surface of the resin mold, and

the front window covers the electronic parts arranged on the main flexible printed circuit board and the electronic parts arranged on the touch-panel-use flexible printed circuit board as viewed in a plan view.

2. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 1 , wherein the liquid crystal display panel and the touch panel are adhered to each other by a thermoplastic resin, and the front window and the touch panel are adhered to each other by a thermoplastic resin.

3. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 1 , wherein the touch panel is an electrostatic touch panel.

4. A liquid crystal display device comprising:

a liquid crystal display panel and a backlight which are accommodated in a resin mold;

a touch panel which is adhered to the liquid crystal display panel; and

a front window which is adhered to the touch panel, wherein

a main flexible printed circuit board is connected to the liquid crystal display panel,

a touch-panel-use flexible printed circuit board is connected to the touch panel,

electronic parts arranged on the touch-panel-use flexible printed circuit board are arranged on a side opposite to the front window, and electronic parts arranged on the main flexible printed circuit board are arranged on a side opposite to the front window,

the main flexible printed circuit board is folded back to a back surface of the resin mold,

a light-emitting-diode-use flexible printed circuit board branched from the main flexible printed circuit board is folded back and extends along a back surface of the resin mold, a light emitting diode is arranged on a portion of the light-emitting-diode-use flexible printed circuit board extending along the back surface of the resin mold, and the light emitting diode is accommodated in an area in the resin mold which is covered by the portion of the light emitting diode flexible use printed circuit board which is folded back, which light emitting diode forms a portion of the backlight,
