Angiogenin complexes (ANGex)
Stabilized angiogenin compositions and methods of preparing a stabilized angiogenin compositions by non-covalent immobilization on a naturally occurring substrate, such as a protein, lipid, nucleic acid or nucleotide substrate, are disclosed.
1. A composition comprising purified complexed angiogenin and purified native angiogenin, wherein the purified complexed angiogenin is non-covalently complexed to purified naturally occurring substrate comprising lactoferrin, wherein the composition comprises complexed angiogenin and native angiogenin at a ratio of 5:1 to 1:27.
2. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises complexed angiogenin and native angiogenin at a ratio of 1:1 to 1:10.
3. The composition of claim 1 , which further comprises a buffer system, a physiological acceptable base and a salt.
4. The composition of claim 3 , wherein the buffer system is selected from the group consisting of oxalic acid, ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid and citric acid.
5. The composition of claim 3 , wherein the physiological acceptable base is sodium bicarbonate.
6. The composition of claim 3 , wherein the salt is selected from the group consisting of sodium chloride, potassium chloride and calcium chloride.
7. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the native angiogenin and the complexed angiogenin are purified from a biological fluid.
8. The composition of claim 7 , wherein the biological fluid is selected from the group consisting of colostrum, milk, whey, milk serum, blood, plasma and serum.
9. The composition of claim 7 , wherein the biological fluid is obtained from a mammal and wherein the mammal is selected from the group consisting of humans, cows, buffalos, horses, sheep, pigs and camels.
10. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises complexed angiogenin and native angiogenin at a ratio of 5:1 to 1:10.
