Printing and flat panel display device
View Patent ↗A printing and display device is provided having a base unit for placement on a surface, a flat panel display unit, an arm extending between the base unit and the flat panel display unit so that the flat panel display unit is supported on the surface by the base unit, and a printer arranged within the flat panel display unit. The base unit has a receptacle for removably receiving a printing fluid cartridge. Printing fluid from the received cartridge is supplied from the base unit to the printer via hoses in the arm.
1. A printing and display device comprising:
a base unit for placement on a surface, the base unit having a receptacle for removably receiving a printing fluid cartridge;
a flat panel display unit;
an arm extending between the base unit and the flat panel display unit so that the flat panel display unit is supported on said surface by the base unit; and
a printer arranged within the flat panel display unit,
wherein printing fluid from the received cartridge is supplied from the base unit to the printer via hoses in the arm.
2. A printing and display device as claimed in claim 1 , configured to receive print data and display data from a computer system, the printer and flat panel display being operationally integrated such that the printer is operable to print based on said received print data and/or display data.

A printing and display device as claimed in claim 2 , wherein the printing and display device includes a connection configured to allow releasable operative connection of the computer system to the printing and display device, for receiving the print data and the display data from the computer system.
4. A printing and display device as claimed in claim 1 , further including a feed mechanism for feeding print media to the printer for printing.
5. A printing and display device as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the feed mechanism is configured to position the print media substantially parallel to a plane defined by the flat panel display unit.
6. A printing and display device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the printer comprises a pagewidth printhead.
7. A printing and display device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the flat panel display unit is one of a Liquid Crystal Display, Organic Light Emitting Diode Display, Field Emission Display, and Plasma Display Panel.
