Modified animal erythropoietin polypeptides and their uses
Modified animal erythropoietin polypeptides and uses thereof are provide.
1. A feline erythropoietin (fEPO) polypeptide comprising a non-naturally encoded amino acid substituted at position 1 of SEQ ID NO: 2,
wherein the non-naturally encoded amino acid is para-acetylphenylalanine, and
wherein the non-naturally encoded amino acid is linked to a water soluble polymer comprising a poly(ethylene) glycol moiety.
2. The fEPO polypeptide of claim 1 , wherein the water soluble polymer has a molecular weight of between about 0.1 kDa and about 100 kDa.
3. The fEPO polypeptide of claim 1 , wherein the water soluble polymer has a molecular weight of between about 0.1 kDa and about 50 kDa.
4. The fEPO polypeptide of claim 1 , wherein the water soluble polymer has a molecular weight of about 20 kDa.
5. The fEPO polypeptide of claim 1 , wherein the water soluble polymer has a molecular weight of about 30 kDa.
6. The fEPO polypeptide of claim 1 , wherein the water soluble polymer has a molecular weight of about 40 kDa.
7. A pharmaceutical formulation comprising the fEPO polypeptide of claim 1 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
8. The pharmaceutical formulation of claim 7 , wherein the water soluble polymer has a molecular weight of between about 0.1 kDa and about 100 kDa.
9. The pharmaceutical formulation of claim 7 , wherein the water soluble polymer has a molecular weight of between about 0.1 kDa and about 50 kDa.
10. The pharmaceutical formulation of claim 7 , wherein the water soluble polymer has a molecular weight of about 20 kDa.
11. The pharmaceutical formulation of claim 7 , wherein the water soluble polymer has a molecular weight of about 30 kDa.
12. The pharmaceutical formulation of claim 7 , wherein the water soluble polymer has a molecular weight of about 40 kDa.
