Abstract

The embodiments disclose a silicone encased flexible cable comprising plural individual conduits and at least one junction box configured into a grouped arrangement including at least one of the conduits is a fluid communication conduit for transferring fluid through the cable, wherein the silicone encased flexible cable is coupled between a controller and an electro-mechanical device, and wherein the fluid communication conduit is configured to transfer at least a liquid and pneumatic gas through the silicone encased flexible cable during operation of the electro-mechanical device; and a mixture of silicone and additives, wherein the additives include graphite and conductive materials mixed within the grouped arrangement, wherein the mixture of silicone and additives is used to create a curved “U” shaped self supporting portion surrounding the grouped arrangement during manufacturing as a singular encasement that is capable of sustaining its shape.

Claims (11)

1. A silicone encased flexible cable, comprising:

plural individual conduits and at least one junction box configured into a grouped arrangement including at least one of the conduits is a fluid communication conduit for transferring fluid through the cable, wherein the silicone encased flexible cable is coupled between a controller and an electro-mechanical device, and wherein the fluid communication conduit is configured to transfer at least a liquid and pneumatic gas through the silicone encased flexible cable during operation of the electro-mechanical device; and

a mixture of silicone and additives, wherein the additives include graphite and conductive materials mixed within the grouped arrangement, wherein the mixture of silicone and additives is used to encase a curved “U” shaped self supporting portion of the grouped arrangement during manufacturing as a singular encasement that is cured and used to maintain the desired shape including the curved “U” shaped self supporting shape.

2. The silicone encased flexible cable of claim 1 , wherein the curved shape is a “U” shape configured to provide the cable with self supporting holding strength when the cable itself is unsupported or in a cantilevered position.

3. The silicone encased flexible cable of claim 1 , wherein the “U” shape is configured to be in a parallel form when it is rolled back and forth and wherein the cable is configured to be spooled on and off of a circular roll, wherein a cantilever strength exists with a “U” shape of the cable when the “U” shape cable rolls off of the spool and wherein when the cable is on the spool, the cable exhibits properties as a flat cable.

4. The silicone encased flexible cable of claim 1 , further comprising integrating a flexible junction box to the grouped arrangement.

5. The silicone encased flexible cable of claim 4 , wherein the flexible junction box contains at least one of electronics, a printed circuit board or a microprocessor.

6. The silicone encased flexible cable of claim 1 , further comprising at least one electrical conduit for transferring electrical signals through the cable.

7. The silicone encased flexible cable of claim 1 , wherein the fluid communication conduit transfers include pneumatics, and fluids through the silicone encased flexible cable.

8. The silicone encased flexible cable of claim 1 , wherein the fluid communication conduit includes at least one of PFA, PVC, PTFE, or Tygon of varying diameters, wall thicknesses, and inner diameter openings.

9. The silicone encased flexible cable of claim 6 , further comprising at least pneumatic tubing, fluid tubing, gaseous tubing, multiple twisted conductors, shielded conductors, single conductor, fiber optics or coax.
