Abstract

A video signal output control method in an information processing apparatus which being to be locked to an external unit by a lock mechanism, the video signal output control method includes detecting the state of the lock mechanism, and stopping the output of the video signal to the external unit, when the lock mechanism is in the unlocked state.

Claims (26)

1. An information processing apparatus comprising:

a body;

a connector provided on the body and configured to connect an external device;

a detector configured to detect whether the external device is connected or disconnected to the connector;

a display controller configured to generate a video signal;

an encrypter configured to encrypt the generated video signal; and

a controller configured to control outputting the encrypted video signal to the external device, and to stop outputting the encrypted video signal to the external device when the external device is disconnected to the connector.

2. The information processing apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the encrypted video signal is a video signal encrypted according to the HDCP standard.

3. The information processing apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the encrypted video signal is configured to be outputted according to the DVI standard or HDMI standard.

4. The information processing apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a first memory configured to store an encryption key.

5. The information processing apparatus of claim 4 , further comprising:

an authentication module configured to authenticate with the encryption key stored in the first memory and an encryption key stored in a second memory provided in the external device.

6. The information processing apparatus of claim 5 , the controller is configured to output the encrypted video signal to the external device after the authentication process.

7. An information processing apparatus comprising:

a body;

a connector provided on the body and configured to connect an external device;

a detector configured to detect a disconnection between the connector and the external device;

a display controller configured to generate a video signal;

an encrypter configured to encrypt the video signal; and

a controller configured to stop outputting the encrypted video signal to the external device when the disconnection is detected.

8. The information processing apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the encrypted video signal is a video signal encrypted according to the HDCP standard.

9. The information processing apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the encrypted video signal is configured to be outputted according to the DVI standard or HDMI standard.

10. The information processing apparatus of claim 7 , further comprising a first memory configured to store an encryption key.

11. The information processing apparatus of claim 10 , further comprising:

an authentication module to authenticate with the encryption key stored in the first memory and an encryption key stored in a second memory provided in the external device.

12. The information processing apparatus of claim 11 , the controller is configured to output the encrypted video signal to the external device after the authentication process.
