Abstract

The present invention is concerned with the use of PDE5 inhibitors in medicine.

Claims (2)

1. A method of treatment of sepsis associated encephalopathy in a patient afflicted with such disease comprising the step of administering a pharmacologically tolerable and therapeutically effective amount of a PDE5 inhibitor to the patient, wherein the PDE5 inhibitor is selected from the group consisting of vardenafil, tadalafil, a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and a hydrate of the pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the PDE5inhibitor is selected from the group consisting of vardenafil hydrochloride, the trihydrate of vardenafil hydrochloride and vardenafil dihydrochloride.
