Abstract

In at least one embodiment, an archery bow comprises a riser supporting a first limb and a second limb. The first limb supports a first rotatable member that defines a first axis of rotation. The second limb supports a second rotatable member that defines a second axis of rotation. The first axis of rotation and the second axis of rotation move with respect to one another as the bow is drawn from a brace condition to a drawn condition. The bow defines a reference plane that includes the first axis of rotation and the second axis of rotation, wherein a distance between a predetermined location on the riser and the reference plane is greater in the brace condition than in the drawn condition.

Claims (33)

1. A combination comprising:

an archery bow comprising a first limb and a bearing accessory attached to said first limb, the bearing accessory having a bearing surface of first predetermined shape; and

a bow press having a bow engaging member, the bow engaging member having a surface having a second predetermined shape that matingly engages the first predetermined shape.

2. The combination of claim 1 , said archery bow having a brace condition and a drawn condition, said archery bow comprising:

a riser supporting said first limb and a second limb, the riser defining a predetermined location;

the first limb supporting a first rotatable member, the first rotatable member defining a first axis of rotation;

the second limb supporting a second rotatable member, the second rotatable member defining a second axis of rotation;

the first axis of rotation and the second axis of rotation moving with respect to one another as the bow is drawn from the brace condition to the drawn condition;

wherein the bow defines a reference plane that includes the first axis of rotation and the second axis of rotation, and a distance between said predetermined location and said reference plane is greater in the brace condition than in the drawn condition.

3. The combination of claim 2 , wherein the reference plane traverses toward the predetermined location as the bow is drawn from the brace condition to the drawn condition.

4. The combination of claim 2 , wherein said predetermined location comprises a pivot point of a bow grip.

5. The combination of claim 2 , wherein said predetermined location comprises an accessory mount location.

6. The combination of claim 2 , wherein the first axis of rotation comprises a first axle.

7. The combination of claim 6 , wherein the second axis of rotation comprises a second axle.

8. The combination of claim 2 , further comprising a cable guard attached to said riser and a power cable extending between the first rotatable member and the second rotatable member, said cable guard biasing the power cable in a lateral direction.

9. The combination of claim 8 , wherein an angle between said power cable and said reference plane is greater in the brace condition than in the drawn condition.

10. The combination of claim 1 , said first limb comprising a first split portion and a second split portion, said bearing accessory attached to said first split portion, a second bearing accessory attached to said second split portion.

11. The combination of claim 1 , wherein said first predetermined shape is semicircular.

12. The combination of claim 1 , wherein the second predetermined shape is cylindrical.

13. The combination of claim 1 , said first limb having an outer surface, the bearing accessory comprising a raised portion extending outward beyond the outer surface of the first limb, said raised portion comprising curvature about an axis transverse to said first limb.

14. An archery bow comprising:

a riser supporting a first limb and a second limb, each limb comprising an inner surface and an outer surface; and

at least one bearing accessory attached to the first limb, the bearing accessory comprising a raised portion extending outward beyond the outer surface of the first limb, said raised portion comprising curvature about an axis transverse to said first limb;

wherein said curvature is convex with respect to the first limb.

15. The bow of claim 14 , said first limb comprising an axle supporting a rotatable member, wherein said curvature defines a central axis that is parallel to said axle.

16. The bow of claim 14 , further comprising a target plate and a fastener, said fastener attaching said bearing accessory to said target plate.

17. The bow of claim 16 , wherein a head of said fastener is recessed within said bearing accessory.

18. The bow of claim 14 , comprising a plurality of bearing accessories.

19. The archery bow of claim 14 in combination with a bow press, said bow press having a bow engaging member, the bow engaging member having a surface having a predetermined shape that matingly engages the bearing accessory.

20. An archery bow comprising:

a riser supporting a first limb and a second limb, each limb comprising an inner surface and an outer surface; and

at least one bearing accessory attached to the first limb, the bearing accessory comprising a raised portion extending outward beyond the outer surface of the first limb, said raised portion comprising curvature about an axis transverse to said first limb;

wherein said raised portion is flat in a direction transverse to said first limb.
