Abstract

The invention relates to salts having alkoxytris(fluoroalkyl)borate anions which on the one hand are used for the synthesis of ionic liquids, but on the other hand can be employed per se as ionic liquid, and to processes for the preparation thereof.

Claims (12)

1. A compound of the formula (2)

(R) 2 O—B(R F ) 3   (2),

in which

R denotes straight-chain or branched alkyl having 1 to 10 C atoms, aryl or aryl-C 1 -C 6 -alkyl and

R F in each case, independently of one another, denotes fluorinated straight-chain or branched alkyl having 1 to 20 C atoms, fluorinated straight-chain or branched C 1 -C 6 -alkyl(aryl) or fluorinated aryl-C 1 -C 6 -alkyl.

2. A process for the preparation of compounds of the formula (2), wherein

a tris(fluoroalkyl)boron carbonyl of the formula (3)

(R F ) 3 BCO  (3),

where R F in each case, independently of one another, denotes fluorinated straight-chain or branched alkyl having 1 to 20 C atoms, fluorinated straight-chain or branched C 1 -C 6 -alkyl(aryl) or fluorinated aryl-C 1 -C 6 -alkyl, is reacted with a dialkyl ether of the formula (4)

(R) 2 O  (4),

where R in each case, independently of one another, denotes straight-chain or branched alkyl having 1 to 10 C atoms, aryl or aryl-C 1 -C 6 -alkyl.

3. An alkylating agent comprising a compound according to claim 1 .
