SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PLACING TELEPHONE CALLS USING A DISTRIBUTED VOICE APPLICATION EXECUTION SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE
A system and method for allowing a telemarketer to place a series of telephone calls to called parties utilizes a distributed processing architecture. This allows the telemarketer to utilize data stored at remote locations to help interact with called parties. In addition, the telemarketer can utilize telephone assets to quickly and easily place multiple simultaneous calls to different called parties.
1 . A system for placing telephone calls to called parties, comprising:
displaying a list of telephone numbers of parties that can be called;
receiving and interpreting a command from a user indicating a first one of the displayed telephone numbers that should be called;
placing a telephone call to the selected first telephone number using a local device coupled to a data network, wherein the telephone call is connected from the local device through the data network;
coupling the telephone call to an audio interface utilized by the user;
playing a prerecorded message to the called party;
receiving and interpreting a command from a user indicating a second one of the displayed telephone numbers that should be called at the same time that the prerecorded message is played to the called party; and
placing a telephone call to the selected second telephone number using a local device coupled to a data network, wherein the telephone call is connected from the local device through the data network.
