Abstract

A computer-readable medium, computer-implemented method, and system are provided. In one embodiment, a task layer service pattern is created, and a task layer service is created from the task layer service pattern. The task layer service is assigned to a step of an executable process, and the step of the executable process is executed. The task layer service is executed in order to invoke a fulfillment service.

Claims (66)

1 . A computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to utilize a task layer service pattern for a distributed order orchestration system, the instructions comprising:

creating a task layer service pattern;

creating a task layer service from the task layer service pattern;

assigning the task layer service to a step of an executable process;

executing the step of the executable process; and

executing the task layer service in order to invoke a fulfillment service.

2 . The computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the task layer service pattern comprises a template capable of providing the task layer service.

3 . The computer-readable medium of claim 1 ,

wherein the task layer service pattern comprises a create task layer service pattern,

wherein the task layer service comprises a create task layer service, and

wherein the create task layer service is capable of performing a regular operation of the task layer service.

4 . The computer-readable medium of claim 1 ,

wherein the task layer service pattern comprises an update task layer service pattern,

wherein the task layer service comprises an update task layer service, and

wherein the update task layer service is capable of performing an adjustment of a previous task layer service assigned to the step of the executable process.

5 . The computer-readable medium of claim 1 ,

wherein the task layer service pattern comprises a cancel task layer service pattern,

wherein the task layer service comprises a cancel task layer service, and

wherein the cancel task layer service is capable of performing a cancellation of a previous task layer service assigned to the step of the executable process.

6 . The computer-readable medium of claim 1 ,

wherein the task layer service pattern comprises a hold task layer service pattern,

wherein the task layer service comprises a hold task layer service, and

wherein the hold task layer service is capable of placing a task on hold if the task include a wait step upon a reception of a change request.

7 . The computer-readable medium of claim 1 ,

wherein the task layer service pattern comprises a check task layer service pattern,

wherein the task layer service comprises a check task layer service, and

wherein the check task layer service is capable of determining whether a task allows for adjustment upon a reception of a change request.

8 . A computer-implemented method for utilizing a task layer service pattern for a distributed order orchestration system, the computer-implemented method comprising:

creating a task layer service pattern;

creating a task layer service from the task layer service pattern;

assigning the task layer service to a step of an executable process;

executing the step of the executable process; and

executing the task layer service in order to invoke a fulfillment service.

9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 , wherein the task layer service pattern comprises a template capable of providing the task layer service.

10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 ,

wherein the task layer service pattern comprises a create task layer service pattern,

wherein the task layer service comprises a create task layer service, and

wherein the create task layer service is capable of performing a regular operation of the task layer service.

11 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 ,

wherein the task layer service pattern comprises an update task layer service pattern,

wherein the task layer service comprises an update task layer service, and

wherein the update task layer service is capable of performing an adjustment of a previous task layer service assigned to the step of the executable process.

12 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 ,

wherein the task layer service pattern comprises a cancel task layer service pattern,

wherein the task layer service comprises a cancel task layer service, and

wherein the cancel task layer service is capable of performing a cancellation of a previous task layer service assigned to the step of the executable process.

13 . An orchestration system, comprising:

a processor; and

an orchestration module configured to create a task layer service pattern,

wherein the orchestration module is further configured to create a task layer service from the task layer service pattern,

wherein the orchestration module is further configured to assign the task layer service to a step of an executable process,

wherein the orchestration module is further configured to execute the step of the executable process, and

wherein the orchestration module is further configured to execute the task layer service in order to invoke a fulfillment service.

14 . The orchestration system of claim 13 , wherein the task layer service pattern comprises a template capable of providing the task layer service.

15 . The orchestration system of claim 13 ,

wherein the task layer service pattern comprises a create task layer service pattern,

wherein the task layer service comprises a create task layer service, and

wherein the create task layer service is capable of performing a regular operation of the task layer service.

16 . The orchestration system of claim 13 ,

wherein the task layer service pattern comprises an update task layer service pattern,

wherein the task layer service comprises an update task layer service, and

wherein the update task layer service is capable of performing an adjustment of a previous task layer service assigned to the step of the executable process.

17 . The orchestration system of claim 13 ,

wherein the task layer service pattern comprises a cancel task layer service pattern,

wherein the task layer service comprises a cancel task layer service, and

wherein the cancel task layer service is capable of performing a cancellation of a previous task layer service assigned to the step of the executable process.
