Abstract

A projection display apparatus includes a housing case housing a plurality of light sources, a light valve, and a projection unit. The housing case has a projection-plane-side sidewall and a front-side sidewall, the projection-plane-side sidewall facing the placement surface, the front-side sidewall being provided on an opposite side to the projection-plane-side sidewall. The front-side sidewall has a protruding portion protruding outward of the housing case.

Claims (23)

1. A projection display apparatus which includes a housing case housing a light source; a light valve configured to modulate light emitted from the light source; and a projection unit configured to project light emitted from the light valve on a projection plane,

the projection display apparatus being placed along placement faces substantially parallel to the projection plane, wherein

the housing case has a substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape having a width parallel to the projection plane,

the housing case has a projection-plane-side sidewall and a front-side sidewall, the projection-plane-side sidewall facing the placement surface, the front-side sidewall being provided on an opposite side to the projection-plane-side sidewall, and

the front-side sidewall has a protruding portion protruding outward of the center of the width of the housing case wherein an inner surface of the protruding portion has a shape along a concave mirror and the protruding portion continues to a front-side sidewall.

2. The projection display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein

the protruding portion is provided substantially at a center of the front-side sidewall in a horizontal direction parallel to the projection plane.

3. A projection display apparatus which includes a housing case housing a light source; a light valve configured to modulate light emitted from the light source; and a projection unit configured to project light emitted from the light valve on a projection plane,

the projection display apparatus being placed along a placement face substantially parallel to the projection plane, wherein

the housing case has a substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape,

the housing case has a projection-plane-side sidewall, a front-side sidewall provided on an opposite side to the projection-plane-side sidewall, a base plate, a ceiling plate provided on an opposite side to the base plate, and a pair of lateral-surface-side sidewall,

the projection-plane-side sidewall and the base plate may form the placement faces.

4. The projection display apparatus according to claim 3 , wherein

a size of the housing case in width direction is greater than a size of the housing case in depth direction and a size of the housing case in height direction.

5. A projection display apparatus which includes a housing case housing a light source; a light valve configured to modulate light emitted from the light source; and a projection unit configured to project light emitted from the light valve on a projection plane,

the projection display apparatus being placed along placement faces substantially parallel to the projection plane, wherein

the housing case has a substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape having a width parallel to the projection plane,

the housing case has a projection-plane-side sidewall and a front-side sidewall, the projection-plane-side sidewall facing the placement surface, the front-side sidewall being provided on an opposite side to the projection-plane-side sidewall,

the projection unit has a concave mirror configured to reflect the light emitted from the light valve, toward the projection plane,

the concave mirror is housed inside the housing case, in a space formed by a protruding portion, and

the front-side sidewall has a protruding portion protruding outward of the center of the width of the housing case wherein an inner surface of the protruding portion has a shape along the concave mirror and the protruding portion continues to a front-side sidewall.

6. The projection display apparatus of claim 3 , wherein

the housing case has a substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape having a width parallel to the projection plane with the projection unit located at the middle of the width and projecting outward therefrom.
