Abstract

The system and method described herein for recording collaborative information technology processes in an intelligent workload management system may include a computing environment having a model-driven, service-oriented architecture for creating collaborative threads to manage workloads. In particular, the management threads may include one or more data structures that converge information describing interaction between managed entities and content that may relate to such interaction in time-ordered series of events. The time-ordered event stream may then be replayed in a real-time stream to remediate, roll back, or otherwise analyze the collaborative information technology processes.

Claims (35)

1. A system for recording activity in an information technology infrastructure, comprising:

one or more processors configured to:

monitor a collaboration activity between a plurality of users of an information technology infrastructure, wherein the collaboration activity is associated with a first information technology troubleshooting process;

determine that the collaboration activity causes change in content of a document of the information technology infrastructure;

generate a record of the collaboration activity in response to the determination that the collaboration activity causes the change in content;

determine that the change in content interferes with performance of the information technology infrastructure;

undo the change in content based on the generated record in response to the determination that the change in content interferes with performance of the information technology infrastructure;

monitor another collaboration activity associated with a second information technology troubleshooting process having one or more characteristics that are same as the first information technology troubleshooting process; and

generate a conformity report that indicates whether the second information technology troubleshooting process conforms to the collaboration activity.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to monitor a collaboration activity between one of the plurality of users and one or more resources in the information technology infrastructure.

3. The system of claim 1 , further comprising a client device configured to record the collaboration activity or replay the collaboration activity.

4. The system of claim 3 , wherein the client device is further configured to replay the collaboration activity in a real-time video.

5. A computer-implemented method of recording activity in an information technology infrastructure, the method being implemented by a computer that includes one or more processors, the method comprising:

monitoring a collaboration activity between a plurality of users of an information technology infrastructure, wherein the collaboration activity is associated with a first information technology troubleshooting process;

determining that the collaboration activity causes change in content of a document of the information technology infrastructure;

generating a record of the collaboration activity in response to the determination that the collaboration activity causes the change in content;

determining that the change in content interferes with performance of the information technology infrastructure;

undoing the change in content based on the generated record in response to the determination that the change in content interferes with performance of the information technology infrastructure;

monitoring another collaboration activity associated with a second information technology troubleshooting process having one or more characteristics that are same as the first information technology troubleshooting process; and

generating a conformity report that indicates whether the second information technology troubleshooting process conforms to the collaboration activity.

6. The method of claim 5 , further comprising monitoring a collaboration activity between one of the plurality of users and one or more resources in the information technology infrastructure.

7. The method of claim 5 , further comprising recording or replaying, at a client device, the collaboration activity.

8. The method of claim 7 , further comprising replaying the collaboration activity in a real-time video.

9. A system for recording activity in an information technology infrastructure, comprising:

a client device configured to record a collaboration activity between a plurality of users of an information technology infrastructure or replay the collaboration activity, wherein the collaboration activity is associated with a first information technology troubleshooting process; and

one or more processors configured to automatically:

monitor the collaboration activity;

determine that the collaboration activity causes change in content of a document of the information technology infrastructure;

generate a record of the collaboration activity in response to the determination that the collaboration activity causes the change in content;

determine that the change in content interferes with performance of the information technology infrastructure;

roll back the change in content based on the generated record in response to the determination that the change in content interferes with performance of the information technology infrastructure;

monitor another collaboration activity associated with a second information technology troubleshooting process having one or more characteristics that are same as the first information technology troubleshooting process; and

generate a conformity report that indicates whether the second information technology troubleshooting process conforms to the collaboration activity.

10. The system of claim 9 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to monitor a collaboration activity between one of the plurality of users and one or more resources in the information technology infrastructure.

11. The system of claim 9 , wherein the client device is further configured to replay the collaboration activity in a real-time video.
