Abstract

At least one embodiment is directed to a system ( 1100 ) to generate an orthopedic dynamic data repository and registry ( 2214 ). The system ( 1100 ) can measure a parameter of the muscular-skeletal system and align at least one of the surfaces to a mechanical axis. The system ( 1100 ) comprises disposable sensors ( 1106 ), disposable targets ( 1110 ), lasers ( 1114 ), a processing unit ( 1122 ), a display ( 1124 ), a reader ( 1120 ), a receiver ( 1118 ), spacer blocks ( 1102 ), and a distractor 1104 . The sensors ( 1106 ) convert measured data to electronic digital form and are in communication with the processing unit ( 1122 ) to display, process, store, and send data to dynamic data repository and registry ( 2214 ). Parameters can be measured pre-operatively, intra-operatively, post-operatively, and long term using sensor ( 1106 ). A customer ( 2402 ) can receive measured data and analysis from dynamic data repository and registry ( 2214 ).

Claims (44)

1 . A computer implemented method to generate and provide an orthopedic dynamic data repository and registry comprising:

displaying electronic digital information related to measured parameters of the muscular-skeletal system from one or more patients;

selecting from a data selection criteria;

requesting access to the orthopedic data repository and registry having measured parameters of the muscular-skeletal system; and

delivering data from the orthopedic data repository and registry corresponding to the data selection criteria.

2 . The method of claim 1 further including a step of selecting measured data of the muscular-skeletal system from the data selection criteria that is patient anonymous.

3 . The method of claim 1 where the step of selecting further includes selecting measured data of the muscular-skeletal system from the data selection criteria having patient information.

4 . The method of claim 1 where the step of selecting further includes selecting pre-operative measured data of the muscular-skeletal system from the data selection criteria.

5 . The method of claim 1 where the step of selecting further includes selecting intra-operative measured data of the muscular-skeletal system from the data selection criteria.

6 . The method of claim 1 where the step of selecting further includes selecting post-operative measured data of the muscular-skeletal system from the data selection criteria.

7 . The method of claim 1 where the step of selecting further includes selecting long-term measured data of the muscular-skeletal system from the data selection criteria.

8 . The method of claim 1 where the step of selecting further includes selecting measured data on a joint of the muscular-skeletal system from the data selection criteria.

9 . The method of claim 1 where the step of selecting further includes selecting measured data on bone density from the data selection criteria.

10 . The method of claim 1 where the step of selecting further includes selecting measured data of the muscular-skeletal system based on gender, age, ethnicity, location, or combinations thereof.

11 . The method of claim 1 further including a step of providing data to the orthopedic data repository and registry.

12 . A computer implemented method to generate and provide an orthopedic dynamic data repository and registry comprising:

displaying electronic digital information related to measured parameters of the muscular-skeletal system from one or more patients;

selecting pre-operatively measured data of the muscular-skeletal system from a data selection criteria;

requesting access to a orthopedic data repository and registry having measured parameters of the muscular-skeletal system; and

delivering pre-operatively measured data from the orthopedic data repository and registry corresponding to the data selection criteria.

13 . The method of claim 12 further including the steps of:

measuring one or more parameters of the muscular-skeletal system pre-operatively with a sensored tool;

enabling the sensored tool to communicate with a processing unit;

converting measured parameters to an electronic digital form; and

sending parameter measurements to the orthopedic data repository and registry where the parameter measurements can include patient information.

14 . The method of claim 13 further including the steps of:

measuring one or more parameters of the muscular-skeletal system post-operatively with an implanted sensor;

enabling the implanted sensor to communicate with at a processing unit;

converting measured parameters to an electronic digital form; and

sending parameter measurements to the orthopedic data repository and registry where the patient measurements can include patient information.

15 . The method of claim 12 further including a step of selecting pre-operative measured data of the muscular-skeletal system from the data selection criteria.

16 . The method of claim 12 further including a step of selecting post-operative measured data of the muscular-skeletal system from the data selection criteria.

17 . The method of claim 12 further including a step of selecting long-term measured data of the muscular-skeletal system from the data selection criteria.

18 . A computer implemented method to generate and provide an orthopedic dynamic data repository and registry comprising:

displaying electronic digital information related to measured parameters of the muscular-skeletal system from one or more patients;

selecting post-operative measured data of the muscular-skeletal system from a data selection criteria;

requesting access to intra-operative orthopedic data repository and registry having measured parameters of the muscular-skeletal system; and

delivering data from the orthopedic data repository and registry corresponding to the data selection criteria.

19 . The method of claim 18 further including the steps of:

measuring one or more parameters of the muscular-skeletal system post-operatively with an implanted sensor;

enabling the implanted sensor to communicate with at a processing unit;

converting measured parameters to an electronic digital form; and

sending parameter measurements to the orthopedic data repository and registry where the patient measurements can include patient information.

20 . The method of claim 19 further including a step of selecting intra-operative measured data of the muscular-skeletal system from the data selection criteria.
