Abstract

The invention relates to the use of alkylphosphocholines in combination with antimetabolite antitumor substances for the treatment of benign and malignant oncoses in humans and animals. It is possible in this connection for the alkylphosphocholines to be employed in a combination according to the invention with one or more antimetabolite antitumor substances. Preferred alkylphosphocholines are described by the Formula II. One such preferred alkylphosphocholine is perifosine.

Claims (19)

1. A method for treating a benign or malignant oncosis, comprising administering to a human subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of octadecyl 1,1-dimethylpiperidinium-4-yl phosphate (perifosine), wherein the perifosine is administered before and/or during treatment with at least one antimetabolite.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the perifosine is administered before treatment with at least one antimetabolite.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the perifosine is administered during treatment with at least one antimetabolite.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the antimetabolite is 5-fluorouracil.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the antimetabolite is cytarabine.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the antimetabolite is gemcitabine.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the oncosis is a breast, lung, prostate, melanoma or colon oncosis.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the perifosine is orally administered.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the perifosine is administered as a tablet, pill or capsule.

10. A method for treating a malignant oncosis, comprising administering to a human subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of perifosine, wherein the perifosine is administered before and/or during treatment with at least one antimetabolite.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the perifosine is administered before treatment with at least one antimetabolite.

12. The method of claim 10 , wherein the perifosine is administered during treatment with at least one antimetabolite.

13. The method of claim 10 , wherein the antimetabolite is 5-fluorouracil.

14. The method of claim 10 , wherein the antimetabolite is cytarabine.

15. The method of claim 10 , wherein the antimetabolite is gemcitabine.

16. The method of claim 10 , wherein the oncosis is a breast, lung, prostate, melanoma or colon oncosis.

17. The method of claim 10 , wherein the oncosis is a colon oncosis.

18. The method of claim 10 , wherein the perifosine is orally administered.

19. The method of claim 10 , wherein the perifosine is administered as a tablet, pill or capsule.
