Various embodiments of systems, methods, and computer programs are disclosed for transferring a conference session with a conferencing system from a first client device to a second client device. One such method comprises: a conferencing system establishing a first conference session for an online conference with a first client device via a communication network; presenting a conference interface via a graphical user interface to the first client device, the conference interface displaying a participant object corresponding to a participant identifier associated with a first participant operating the first client device; the participant initiating a transfer request comprising the participant identifier; sending the transfer request to a second client device; the second client device acknowledging the transfer request; and the second client device establishing a second conference session with the conferencing system using the participant identifier.

Claims (18)

1. A method for transferring a conference session with a conferencing system from a first client device to a second client device, the method comprising:

a conferencing system establishing an online conference between a plurality of participants;

one of the participants initiating a transfer request to transfer the corresponding participant session from a first client device to a second client device;

in response to the transfer request, sending a message to the second client device via a communication network, the message comprising a uniform resource locator (URL) associated with the conferencing system;

receiving an acknowledgement of the transfer request from the second client device; and

in response to the acknowledgement of the transfer request, the conferencing system transferring the corresponding participant session from the first client device to the second client device while persistently displaying the associated participant's participant object in the conference interface to the other participants.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the conferencing system transferring the corresponding participant session comprises the first client device sending the transfer request to the conferencing system.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the conferencing system transferring the corresponding participant session further comprises the first client device sending the message to the second client device via a communication network.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the message comprises one of an email, a social networking message, and a short messaging service (SMS) message.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the acknowledgement of the transfer request from the second client device comprises the second client device transmitting a further response to the conferencing system or the first client device.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the transfer request comprises a participant identifier associated with the participant.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the participant objects comprise an interactive object with a plurality of expandable display faces.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first client device comprises a personal computer and the second client device comprises a mobile computing device.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the participant objects comprise an interactive object having a first selectable display face that expands upon user selection to display further display faces.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein one of the further display faces displays social networking information associated with the participant.

11. The method of claim 9 , wherein one of the further display faces displays a business card component associated with the participant.

12. The method of claim 1 , wherein the conferencing system transferring the corresponding participant session from the first client device to the second client device comprises sending the transfer request directly to the second client device via a short-range local network.
