Abstract

An application for a recycler includes a pressure and temperature resistant metal vessel that is filled with a liquid. Within the vessel is at least one submerged electric arc between a pair of carbon base electrodes powered by either a DC or AC current. The vessel has mechanical systems that maintain and optimize the electric arc. The electric arc produces a combustible gas. The liquid is pumped through a bore in one or more of the electrodes, delivering the liquid directly to the location of the arc, thereby reducing or eliminating any ignition of the gas by the arc.

Claims (34)

1. An apparatus for producing usable energy comprising:

a pressure and temperature resistant vessel filled with a liquid;

at least one pair of electrodes, the electrodes held within the vessel and the electrodes submerged within the liquid;

means for delivering an electric current to a first pair of the electrodes;

means for maintaining an arc between the first pair of electrodes while maximizing a gap between the first pair of electrodes by a motion of at least a first electrode of the first pair of electrodes toward and away from a second electrode of the first pair of electrodes; and

means for flowing said liquid through at least one bore, the bore passing through at least one electrode of the first pair of electrodes so that said liquid exits the at least one bore at the gap;

wherein a combustible gas is produced by the arc and the combustible gas percolates to the surface of said liquid for collection.

2. The apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising means for initiating the arc by temporarily shorting the first electrode of the first pair of the electrodes to the second electrode of the first pair of electrodes.

3. The apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising at least one heat exchanger, the heat exchanger extracting heat produced by esoenergetic reactions caused by said arc.

4. The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the heat exchanger uses the heat to produce electric power.

5. The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein said electric current is a direct electric current.

6. The apparatus according to claim 5 , wherein said direct electric current pulses at a frequency that is a sub-multiple of a resonating frequency of said liquid.

7. The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein said electric current is an alternating electric current.

8. The apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein said alternating electric current has a variable voltage and a variable frequency.

9. The apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein a frequency the alternating electric current is a sub-multiple of a resonating frequency of said liquid.

10. The apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising means for mounting said electrodes to respective flanges and means for the removal of said flanges.

11. The apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising:

means for the rapid removal of the electrodes.

12. The apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising means for monitoring the level of said liquid inside said vessel.

13. The apparatus according to claim 12 , further comprising means for automatically refilling said liquid responsive to said means for monitoring.

14. The apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising means for producing electricity by combustion of said combustible gas.

15. The apparatus according to claim 4 , further comprising means for producing electricity by combustion of said combustible gas to produce additional electric power and wherein the electric power combined with the additional electric power is greater than an amount of electric power consumed by the means for delivering the electric current added to an amount of electric power consumed by the means for maintaining the arc added to an amount of electric power consumed by the means for flowing.

16. A method of producing a combustible gas, the method comprising:

filling a pressure and temperature resistant vessel with a liquid, the vessel having a first electrode and a second electrode held within the vessel, the electrodes being submerged within the liquid;

delivering an electric current to said electrodes;

initiating an arc by temporarily shorting the first electrode to the second electrode;

maintaining said arc while maximizing a gap between the electrodes by a motion of at least the first electrode toward and away from the second electrode;

flowing said liquid through at least one bore, the bore passing through at least one electrode of the first and second electrodes so that said liquid exits the at least one bore into the gap; and

collecting a combustible gas produced by the arc after the combustible gas percolates to the surface of said liquid.

17. The method of claim 16 , further comprising the step of extracting heat produced by esoenergetic reactions caused by said arc by at least one heat exchanger.

18. The method of claim 17 , further comprising the step of producing electricity from the heat.

19. The method of claim 16 , wherein said electric current is a direct electric current that pulses at a frequency that is a sub-multiple of a resonating frequency of said liquid.

20. The method of claim 16 , wherein said electric current is an alternating electric current that has a variable voltage and a variable frequency.

21. The method of claim 16 , wherein a frequency the alternating electric current is a sub-multiple of a resonating frequency of said liquid.
