Abstract

A liquid crystal dispensing system includes a frame, a stage coupled to the frame; at least one liquid crystal dispenser moveably coupled the frame over the stage, and at least one measurement member operatively coupled to the liquid crystal dispenser, wherein the at least measurement member detecting an amount of liquid crystal material dispensed from the at least one liquid crystal dispenser.

Claims (19)

1. A liquid crystal dispensing system, comprising:

a frame;

a stage coupled to the frame;

at least one liquid crystal dispenser moveably coupled to the frame over the stage; and

at least one measuring means coupled to at least one of the stage and the frame within a range of motion of the at least one liquid crystal dispenser,

wherein the measuring means includes a gravimeter and a measuring cup receiving liquid crystal, the gravimeter being installed on the stage and the measuring cup is disposed on the gravimeter so that the liquid crystal is directly dispensed in the measuring cup on the gravimeter to detect the weight of the measuring cup having the liquid crystal to measure the dispensing amount of the liquid crystal.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein at least one liquid crystal dispenser includes:

a discharge pump for drawing in liquid crystal material from a container and for discharging the drawn liquid crystal material; and

a nozzle in fluid communication with the discharge pump for dispensing the discharged liquid crystal material.

3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the dispenser includes:

a cylinder having a suction opening and a discharge opening; and

a piston for drawing the liquid crystal material in through the suction opening and for discharging the liquid crystal material out through the discharge opening.

4. The system of claim 3 , wherein:

the piston is arranged within the cylinder; and

a groove is arranged at a center region of a lower portion of the piston.

5. The system of claim 4 , wherein the piston is rotatable and axially translatable within the cylinder.

6. The system of claim 3 , further comprising a liquid crystal capacity amount controlling member coupled to the discharge pump that varies a fixation angle of the discharge pump to control the amount of liquid crystal material discharged by the discharge pump.

7. The system of claim 6 , further comprising a rotating member for fixing and rotating the piston within the cylinder.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein at least one liquid crystal dispenser is moveably coupled to the frame along first and second directions, wherein the first and second directions are substantially perpendicular to each other.
