Network-Based Collage Editor
A network-based collage editor for creating and editing image and or text-based-based projects includes a graphics user interface (GUI) implemented in software executable from a digital medium. The GUI interprets dimensional ink printing instructions inputted manually, automatically, or via combination thereof and applies the instructions to output dimensional printing relative to one or more project items.
1 . A network-based collage editor for creating and editing image and or text-based-based projects comprising:
a graphics user interface (GUI) implemented in software executable from a digital medium;
wherein the GUI interprets dimensional ink printing instructions inputted manually, automatically, or a via combination thereof and applies the instructions to output dimensional printing relative to one or more project items.
2 . The collage editor of claim 1 wherein the GUI is accessible through a Webpage and is hosted by a server connected to the Internet.
3 . The collage editor of claim 1 wherein a project includes but is not limited to a photo-card, a photo-calendar, or a photo-book.
4 . The collage editor of claim 1 implemented as a browser-based extension or plug-in.
5 . The collage editor of claim 1 wherein access thereto is granted by default to users who do not have registered accounts or other authorization to use the editor.
6 . The collage editor of claim 1 wherein two or more users may collaborate simultaneously on a same project using custom versions of the same editor.
7 . The collage editor of claim 6 including a messaging capability for realtime messaging between collaborating users.
8 . The collage editor of claim 1 further including a page viewport for displaying a page canvass being edited within a multiple page project.
9 . The collage editor of claim 1 further including a message posting section accessible to users from within the editor.
10 . The collage editor of claim 1 integrated with a print engine wherein the editor and print engine are flash-based components.
11 . The collage editor of claim 1 wherein content available for incorporation into a project is served according to a ranking hierarchy.
12 . The collage editor of claim 1 wherein default content available for incorporation into a project under a theme is automatically populated into the project when the project theme is selected.
13 . The collage editor of claim 1 further including a mechanism for opening a theme-based project created by another user and for pre-cleansing the project of that user's photos and text content during the open process leaving the rest of the content for consideration by the new user.
