Abstract

A connecting structure of the present invention includes a first substrate, a second substrate on which the first substrate is laminated, and a sheet like connection body having one end connected to one principal surface of the first substrate and another end connected to one principal surface of the second substrate, wherein a lengthwise direction of the sheet like connection body is parallel to a perimeter part of the first substrate, and the sheet like connection body has a slit part extending from one of end portions thereof to a part thereof along the lengthwise direction, and has a first end and a second end divided by the slit part at one of end portions, the first end is connected to a principal surface of the first substrate in vicinity of a peripheral part of the first substrate, and the second end is connected to a principal surface of the second substrate in vicinity of a peripheral part of the first substrate.

Claims (51)

1. A connecting structure comprising:

a first plane with a first conductor approximately parallel to an XY-plane in a three-dimensional rectangular coordinate X-Y-Z,

a second plane with a second conductor approximately parallel to the XY-plane;

an edge approximately parallel to a Y-axis; and

a sheet with a flexibility provided with a conductive layer,

wherein an X-coordinate origin is set to the edge, a positive direction of a Z-coordinate is set to be a direction extending from the second plane to the first plane;

the first conductor and the sheet are connected electrically at a first connection region;

the second conductor and the sheet are connected electrically at a second connection region;

the sheet has a shape so as to be extended from the first connection region to the second connection region across the edge;

within the first connection region, its coordinate value of a point on the first conductor with a minimum distance from the edge is set to be (x 1 , y 1 , z 1 );

within the second connection region, its coordinate value of a point on the second conductor with a minimum distance from the edge is set to be (x 2 , y 2 , z 2 );

if proceeding from (x 1 , y 1 , z 1 ) toward (x 2 , y 2 , z 2 ) along the surface of the sheet, the coordinate value on the surface of the sheet, where the Z-coordinate value of the surface of the sheet becomes smaller than “z 1 ” for the first time, is set to be (x 3 , y 3 and z 3 ); even if proceeding any kind of routes, a condition of |y 2 −y 3 |>|x 2 | is satisfied.

2. The connecting structure according to claim 1 , wherein if a vertical interval between the first plane and the second plane is set to be “z” and the minimum curvature radius to a bend in a thickness direction of the sheet is set to be “R”,

a condition of |x 2 |<2R is satisfied for a condition of z≧2R,

a condition of |x 2 |<√{z (4R−z)} is satisfied for a condition of 0<z<2R.

3. A connecting structure comprising:

a laminated structure of a first substrate and a second substrate having planes approximately parallel to an XY-plane in a three-dimensional rectangular coordinate X-Y-Z, respectively,

wherein the first substrate has a first conductor provided on an outside plane of the first substrate, an edge approximately parallel to a Y-axis, and an end face including the edge;

the second substrate has a second conductor provided on an exposed surface of the second substrate with which the first substrate does not overlap, and a sheet with a flexibility provided with a conductive layer;

the sheet has a configuration in which the sheet is electrically connected to the first conductor, intersects an extended plane of the end face, and is electrically connected to the second conductor; and

the end face is opposed to one of end faces of the sheet.

4. A display device including the connecting structure according to claim 1 , further comprising:

a couple of substrates sandwiching a liquid crystal layer, one of the couple of substrates being provided with a first electrode and a second electrode on a side of the liquid crystal layer so as to drive the liquid crystal layer by an electric field generated between the first electrode and the second electrode;

a conductive film provided on an outside of an opposed substrate opposing to the substrate provided with the first and second electrodes;

a connection terminal provided on an exposed surface of the substrate provided with the first and second electrodes where the opposed substrate does not overlap;

a wiring extended from the connection terminal; and

the connecting structure connecting the conductive film to the connection terminal.

5. A display device including the connecting structure according to claim 1 , further comprising:

a couple of substrates sandwiching electro-optical material, one of the substrates being provided with a conductive film on an outside thereof;

at least of two connection terminals provided on an exposed surface of the other one of the substrates on a side facing said electro-optical material;

wirings extended from the connection terminals; and

the connecting structure connecting the conductive film to the connection terminals.

6. A connecting structure comprising:

a first substrate;

a second substrate on which said first substrate is laminated; and

a sheet like connection body having one end connected to one principal surface of said first substrate and another end connected to one principal surface of said second substrate,

wherein a lengthwise direction of said sheet like connection body is parallel to a perimeter part of said first substrate;

said sheet like connection body has a slit part extending from one of end portions thereof to a part thereof along said lengthwise direction, and has a first end and a second end divided by said slit part at said one of end portions;

said first end is connected to a principal surface of said first substrate in vicinity of a peripheral part of said first substrate; and

said second end is connected to a principal surface of said second substrate in vicinity of a peripheral part of said first substrate.

7. A display device including the connecting structure according to claim 6 , further comprising:

a couple of substrates sandwiching a liquid crystal layer, one of the couple of substrates being provided with a first electrode and a second electrode on a side of the liquid crystal layer so as to drive the liquid crystal layer by an electric field generated between the first electrode and the second electrode;

a conductive film provided on an outside of an opposed substrate opposing to the substrate provided with the first and second electrodes;

a connection terminal provided on an exposed surface of the substrate provided with the first and second electrodes where the opposed substrate does not overlap;

a wiring extended from the connection terminal; and

the connecting structure connecting the conductive film to the connection terminal.

8. A display device including the connecting structure according to claim 6 , further comprising:

a couple of substrates sandwiching electro-optical material, one of the substrates being provided with a conductive film on an outside thereof;

at least of two connection terminals provided on an exposed surface of the other one of the substrates on a side facing said electro-optical material;

wirings extended from the connection terminals; and

the connecting structure connecting the conductive film to the connection terminals.
