Abstract

This invention features conjugates, compositions, methods of synthesis, and applications thereof, including folate derived conjugates of nucleosides, nucleotides, non-nucleosides, and nucleic acids including enzymatic nucleic acids and antisense nucleic acid molecules.

Claims (5)

1. A compound having the formula VI:

wherein each R 4 , R 5 , R 6 and R 7 is independently hydrogen, alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl, substituted aryl, or a protecting group, R 2 is a nucleic acid that is double stranded, each “n” is independently an integer from 0 to about 200, and L is :

each R 3 and R 4 is independently hydrogen, alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl, substituted aryl, or a protecting group and R 13 is an amino acid side chain.

2. The compound of claim 1 , wherein R 3 , R 4 , R 5 , R 6 and R 7 are hydrogen.

3. The compound of claim 1 wherein the nucleic acid is an enzymatic nucleic acid.
