Abstract

The present disclosure describes a system, method, and computer readable medium for providing information to a receiving party in a communications network. The method includes receiving a message from a sending party and performing a lookup of information relating to the sending party in a database via an Internet Protocol connection. The lookup is based on an identifier of at least one of the sending party and the receiving party. Subsequently, the information is provided to the receiving party based on the availability of the information in the database.

Claims (50)

1. A method for providing information to a receiving party in a communications network, the method comprising:

receiving a message from a sending party;

performing a lookup of information relating to the sending party in a database via an Internet Protocol connection, the lookup is based on an identifier of at least one of the sending party and the receiving party;

determining a time duration between the received message and a previous message stored in the database, wherein the previous message was received from the sending party; and

providing the information to the receiving party based on the availability of the information in the database and if the time duration is more than a predefined time duration.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the performing the lookup of the information relating to the sending party in a database comprises:

sending a query with the identifier to the database;

determining if the identifier is located in the database; and

receiving information associated with the sending party if the identifier is located in the database.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the receiving the message further comprises receiving an identifier of at least one of the sending party and the receiving party.

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining whether the message is received after a reboot; and

providing the information to the receiving party if the message is received after the reboot.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the providing the information comprises displaying the information on a device of the receiving party.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the providing the information comprises playing an audio of the information on a device of the receiving party.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

storing the information in a message database; and

removing duplicate information from the message database.

8. The method of claim 7 further comprising:

performing a lookup of information relating to the sending party in the message database via an Internet Protocol connection, the lookup is based on an identifier of at least one of the sending party and the receiving party; and

providing the information to the receiving party based on the availability of the information in the message database.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the message comprises at least one of a text message and a multimedia message.

The method of claim 1 , wherein the information relating to the sending party comprises at least one of a telephone number of the sending party, a name, a city, a state, an address, a photo, a video, a text, a hyperlink, and any other information that can be sent via the Internet protocol connection.

11. A system for providing information to a receiving party in a communications network, the method comprising:

at least one device for receiving a message from a sending party; and

at least one database for storing information associated with the sending party, wherein the at least one device is operable to perform a lookup of information relating to the sending party in a database via an Internet Protocol connection, the lookup is based on an identifier of at least one of the sending party and the receiving party, determine a time duration between the received message and a previous message stored in the database, wherein the previous message was received from the sending party, and provides the information to the receiving party based on the availability of the information in the database and if the time duration is more than a predefined time duration.

12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the at least one device is operable to:

send a query with the identifier to the database;

determine if the identifier is located in the database; and

receive information associated with the sending party if the identifier is located in the database.

13. The system of claim 11 , wherein the at least one device is operable to:

determine whether the message is received after a reboot; and

provide the information to the receiving party if the message is received after the reboot.

14. The system of claim 11 , wherein the at least one device is operable to:

store the information in a message database; and

remove duplicate information from the message database.

15. The system of claim 14 , wherein the at least one device is operable to:

perform a lookup of information relating to the sending party in the message database via an Internet Protocol connection, the lookup is based on an identifier of at least one of the sending party and the receiving party; and

provide the information to the receiving party based on the availability of the information in the message database.

16. A tangible non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions executable by a device for providing information to a receiving party in a communications network, the instructions comprising:

receiving a message from a sending party;

performing a lookup of information relating to the sending party in a database via an Internet Protocol connection, the lookup is based on an identifier of at least one of the sending party and the receiving party;

determining a time duration between the received message and a previous message stored in the database, wherein the previous message was received from the sending party; and

providing the information to the receiving party based on the availability of the information in the database and if the time duration is more than a predefined time duration.

17. The tangible non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 16 , further comprising instructions for:

storing the information in a message database; and

removing duplicate information from the message database.

18. The tangible non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , further comprising instructions for:

performing a lookup of information relating to the sending party in the message database via an Internet Protocol connection, the lookup is based on an identifier of at least one of the sending party and the receiving party; and

providing the information to the receiving party based on the availability of the information in the message database.
