Abstract

A device for applying a coating includes a multi-component cartridge, a static mixing nozzle in fluid communication with the cartridge, and at least one paint applicator selected from the group including a roller, a brush, and an angled spray tip, in fluid communication with the nozzle. A method includes applying a coating to a surface with the above-described device. Another method includes applying a non-skid coating to a surface with the above-described device.

Claims (20)

1. A device for applying a coating, comprising:

at least two component cartridges, each including an aperture in fluid communication with a common discharge nozzle,

a static mixing nozzle in fluid communication with the common discharge nozzle, and

at least one paint applicator comprising a roller in fluid communication with the static mixing nozzle,

wherein at least one flexible hose is disposed between and in fluid communication with the common discharge nozzle and the static mixing nozzle.

2. The device of claim 1 , wherein the roller is a perforated roller.

3. The device of claim 1 , wherein the roller is a perforated roller having an interior in fluid communication with the static mixing nozzle.

4. The device of claim 1 , further comprising a roller coater disposed between the roller and the static mixing nozzle, wherein the roller coater is in fluid communication with both the static mixing nozzle and an exterior surface of the roller.

5. The device of claim 1 , wherein each component cartridge comprises a cylindrical cartridge.

6. The device of claim 1 , wherein each component cartridge further comprises an open filling end that is disposed opposite the aperture and that is slidingly sealed by a cartridge piston seal.

7. The device of claim 1 , further comprising a manual, pneumatic, or hydraulic dispensing gun, in contact with each of the at least two component cartridges.

8. A device for applying a coating, comprising:

at least two component cartridges, each including an aperture in fluid communication with a common discharge nozzle,

a static mixing nozzle in fluid communication with the common discharge nozzle, and

at least one paint applicator comprising a roller in fluid communication with the static mixing nozzle,

wherein the roller is a perforated roller having an interior in fluid communication with the static mixing nozzle.

9. The device of claim 8 , further comprising a roller coater disposed between the roller and the static mixing nozzle, wherein the roller coater is in fluid communication with both the static mixing nozzle and an exterior surface of the roller.

10. The device of claim 8 , wherein each component cartridge comprises a cylindrical cartridge.

11. The device of claim 8 , wherein each component cartridge further comprises an open filling end that is disposed opposite the aperture and that is slidingly sealed by a cartridge piston seal.

12. The device of claim 8 , further comprising a manual, pneumatic, or hydraulic dispensing gun, in contact with each of the at least two component cartridges.
