Abstract

The present invention is directed to a third generation form of creatine, specifically a creatine hydrochloride salt, that drives significant improvements in muscle development and recovery due to its enhanced bio-availability, while causing fewer negative side effects compared to previous forms of creatine.

Claims (23)

1. A supplement comprising:

creatine HCl, wherein the creatine HCl possesses a solubility of at least 600 mg/mL in water at 25° C. after a time period of about 1.5 hours.

2. The supplement of claim 1 , wherein the creatine HCl is at least 95 percent free of contaminants.

3. The supplement of claim 1 , wherein the recommended dosage range for the creatine HCl is between about one quarter teaspoon to about one tablespoon per hundred pounds body weight.

4. The supplement of claim 1 , wherein the supplement is capable of being taken orally.

5. The supplement of claim 1 , wherein the creatine HCl has a shelf-life of at least about 45 days in aqueous solution at room temperature.

6. The supplement of claim 4 , wherein an effective dosage of the supplement is about 500 mg to about 1500 mg of creatine HCl per 100 pounds body weight.

7. The supplement of claim 1 , wherein the creatine HCl further comprises an additive or feed supplement for livestock.

8. The supplement of claim 1 , wherein the creatine HCl possesses a solubility of at least 650 mg/mL in water at 25° C. after a time period of about 1.5 hours.

9. The supplement of claim 8 , wherein the creatine HCl possesses a solubility of at least 675 mg/mL±18 mg /ml in water at 25° C. after a time period of about 1.5 hours.

10. The supplement of claim 9 , wherein the creatine HCl possesses a solubility of at least 679 mg/mL±18 mg /ml in water at 25° C. after a time period of about 1.5 hours.

11. The supplement of claim 1 , wherein the supplement is comprised in a sports bar, a nutritional bar, a powder, a liquid, a gel, a sports drink, a liquid meal replacement, or a beverage.

12. The supplement of claim 1 , further comprising proteins, amino acid supplements, complex carbohydrates, D-ribose, fats, fibers, or combinations thereof.

13. The supplement of claim 1 , further comprising at least one additional species of creatine selected from the group comprising creatine esters, creatine pyruvate, creatine phosphate, creatine alpha-ketoglutarate, creatine citrate, and combinations thereof.

14. A supplement comprising:

creatine HCl, wherein the creatine HCl possesses a solubility of at least 679 mg/mL±18 mg/ml in water at 25° C. after a time period of about 1.5 hours, and wherein the creatine HCl is at least 95 percent free of contaminants.

15. The supplement of claim 14 , wherein the supplement is comprised in a sports bar, a nutritional bar, a powder, a liquid, a gel, a sports drink, a liquid meal replacement, or a beverage.

16. The supplement of claim 14 , further comprising proteins, amino acid supplements, complex carbohydrates, D-ribose, fats, fibers, or combinations thereof.

17. The supplement of claim 14 , further comprising at least one additional species of creatine selected from the group comprising creatine esters, creatine pyruvate, creatine phosphate, creatine alpha-ketoglutarate, creatine citrate, and combinations thereof.

18. The supplement of claim 14 , having an effective dosage of about 500 mg to about 1500 mg of creatine HCl per 100 pounds body weight.

19. A supplement comprising:

creatine HCl, wherein the creatine HCl is at least 95 percent free of contaminants.

20. The supplement of claim 19 , wherein the supplement is comprised in a sports bar, a nutritional bar, a powder, a liquid, a gel, a sports drink, a liquid meal replacement, or a beverage.
