Abstract

An aspect of the present invention relates to a method and system of receiving information of a user's support facility comfort requirements; using a software application to determine a proper support facility firmness configuration to match the user's requirement; selecting foam springs with the proper user required firmness as determined by the software application; and configuring the selected foam springs within the support facility to match the user's firmness requirements.

Claims (21)

1. A mattress, comprising:

a plurality of foam springs;

a rail including first indentations to receive, hold, and release fewer than all of the plurality of foam springs;

a layer including second indentations to receive, hold, and release all of the plurality of foam springs; and

an encasement adapted to selectively encase an assembly of the plurality of foam springs, the rail, and the layer.

2. The mattress of claim 1 , further comprising:

a first zipper part joined to a first side of a selective opening in the encasement; and

a second zipper part joined to a second side of the selective opening, wherein

the first side and the second side are opposing sides of the selective opening.

3. The mattress of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of foam springs include various of a cylindrical foam spring and a prismatoidal foam spring.

4. The mattress of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of foam springs includes an attachment device that selectively attaches to the encasement.

5. The mattress of claim 4 , wherein the attachment device includes a buckle.

6. The mattress of claim 4 , wherein the attachment device includes a snap.

7. The mattress of claim 4 , wherein the attachment device includes a clip.

8. The mattress of claim 4 , wherein the attachment device includes glue.

9. The mattress of claim 4 , wherein the attachment device includes a fabric hook-and-loop fastener.

10. The mattress of claim 4 , wherein the attachment device includes tape.

11. The mattress of claim 1 , wherein the encasement includes a vertical locator, and wherein one of the plurality of foam springs includes an indentation adapted to fit onto the vertical locator.

12. The mattress of claim 1 , further comprising:

a fabric webbing removably and replaceably attached to the encasement, the fabric webbing securing at least two of the plurality of foam springs in a predetermined location within the encasement, wherein the fabric webbing includes one or more openings that permit each of the at least two of the plurality of foam springs to be independently removed from and replaced to the predetermined location within the encasement.

13. The mattress of claim 1 , wherein the layer includes an attachment device comprising a plurality of openings, each of which fits, orients, and allows removal and replacement of one of the plurality of foam springs.
