Abstract

A locking mechanism ( 1 ) for a vehicle seat, particularly for a motor vehicle seat, includes a latch that is to be interlocked with an opposite element (B) and is mounted to be pivotable about a first bearing bolt ( 13 ), at least one securing element ( 25, 31 ) that secures the latch ( 11 ) in the locked state, and a lock housing ( 5 ) which supports the latch ( 11 ) and the securing element ( 25, 31 ). The lock housing ( 5 ) has an integrated first stop ( 5 a ) for the opposite element (B). The stop ( 5 a ) has a damping effect when the opposite element (B) rests against the lock housing ( 5 ).

Claims (33)

1. A locking mechanism for a motor vehicle seat, the locking mechanism comprising:

a counter element;

a latch for locking to the counter element, the latch being pivotably mounted about a bearing pin;

at least one securing element which secures the latch in a locked state in which said latch is locked to said counter element;

a lock housing, which bears the latch and the at least one securing element, the lock housing having an integrated stop for the counter element, which acts in a damping manner when bearing against the counter element, wherein a region of said lock housing located behind said integrated stop has at least one material recess; and

a lock cover, wherein the lock housing is configured to be half-open and is at least substantially closed by the lock cover, said lock cover having another stop against which the counter element comes to bear after deformation of the integrated stop, said at least one securing element comprising a clamping element and a capture element, wherein when the latch is in the locked state, said clamping element is pretensioned in a normal case exerting a closing moment on said latch and in the event of a crash, said capture element supports said latch, said clamping element and said capture element being both pivotably mounted about another bearing pin and said capture element being arranged, relative to said another bearing pin, axially adjacent to said clamping element on a side of said clamping element remote from said lock housing, wherein said capture element and said clamping element are mechanically connected to one another with free travel via a slot-pin guide.

2. The locking mechanism as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the integrated stop is resiliently deformed when bearing against the counter element.

3. The locking mechanism as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising a separately configured unlocking housing; and

an unlocking handle mounted to the unlocking housing.

4. The locking mechanism as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the unlocking housing is fastened to the lock housing and/or to the lock cover.

5. The locking mechanism as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the unlocking housing is pushed onto and/or clipped to the lock housing and/or the lock cover.

The locking mechanism as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the unlocking handle is directly articulated to said capture element, by means of a single point of articulation, said unlocking handle comprising an actuating element, said capture element comprising an actuating element receiving portion, said actuating element engaging said actuating element receiving portion, said actuating element receiving portion and said actuating element defining said single point of articulation.

7. The locking mechanism as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a cap is located on the latch, said cap at least partially covering an edge of a hook opening of the latch.

8. The locking mechanism as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said another bearing pin is arranged parallel to the bearing pin, each of said capture element and said clamping element being independently movable when the latch is in the locked state.

9. The locking mechanism as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the latch has a common functional surface for interaction with the clamping element and with the capture element.

10. A vehicle seat comprising:

a backrest; and

a locking mechanism for attaching said backrest to a vehicle structure, the locking mechanism comprising:

a counter element;

a latch for locking to the counter element, the latch being pivotably mounted about a bearing pin;

at least one securing element which secures the latch in a locked state in which said latch is locked to said counter element;

a lock housing, which bears the latch and the at least one securing element, the lock housing having at least one material recess and an integrated stop for the counter element, which acts in a damping manner when bearing against the counter element, said at least one material recess being adjacent to said integrated stop; and

a lock cover, wherein the lock housing is configured to be half-open and is at least substantially closed by the lock cover, said lock cover having another stop against which the counter element comes to bear after deformation of the integrated stop, said at least one securing element comprising a clamping element and a capture element, wherein when the latch is in said locked state, said clamping element is pretensioned in a normal case exerting a closing moment on said latch and in the event of a crash, said capture element supports said latch, said clamping element and said capture element being pivotably mounted about another bearing pin, said capture element being arranged, relative to said another bearing pin, axially adjacent to said clamping element, with respect to a longitudinal axis of said another bearing pin, on a side of said clamping element remote from said lock housing, wherein said capture element and said clamping element are mechanically connected to one another with free travel via a slot-pin guide.

11. The locking mechanism as claimed in claim 10 , wherein the integrated stop is resiliently deformed when bearing against the counter element.

12. The locking mechanism as claimed in claim 10 , further comprising:

a separately configured unlocking housing; and

an unlocking handle mounted to the unlocking housing, wherein the unlocking housing is fastened to the lock housing and/or to the lock cover, wherein the unlocking handle is directly articulated to said capture element by means of a single point of articulation, said unlocking handle comprising an actuating element, said at least one securing element comprising an actuating element receiving portion, said actuating element engaging said actuating element receiving portion, said actuating element receiving portion and said actuating element defining said single point of articulation.

A locking mechanism for a motor vehicle seat, the locking mechanism comprising: a counter element; a latch for locking to the counter element, the latch being pivotably mounted about a bearing pin; a clamping element; a capture element, at least one of said clamping element and said capture element securing the latch in a locked state in which said latch is locked to said counter element, said clamping element and said capture element being pivotably mounted about another bearing pin such that said clamping element and said capture element are movable relative to each other when the latch is in said locked state, said capture element being arranged axially adjacent to said clamping element with respect to an axial direction of said another bearing pin, wherein when the latch is in said locked state, said clamping element is pretensioned in a normal case such that said clamping element applies a closing force on said latch, said capture element supporting said latch in the event of a crash, said capture element and said clamping element being mechanically connected to one another via a slot-pin guide; a lock housing connected to said latch, said clamping element and said capture element, said lock housing having an integrated stop for the counter element, which acts in a damping manner when bearing against the counter element, said lock housing having a lock housing surface adjacent to said integrated stop, said lock housing surface defining at least one recess adjacent to said integrated stop; and an unlocking handle having a least a portion integrally connected to said unlocking handle to form a one-piece unlocking handle structure, wherein said at least said portion of said unlocking handle directly engages said capture element.

The locking mechanism as claimed in claim 13 , wherein said unlocking handle directly engages said capture element by means of a single connection point, said at least said portion of said unlocking handle comprising an actuating element, said capture element comprising an actuating element receiving portion, said actuating element engaging said actuating element receiving portion, said actuating element receiving portion and said actuating element defining said single connection point.

15. The locking mechanism as claimed in claim 13 , wherein said clamping element is movable independent of movement of said capture element in said locked state, said clamping element being arranged relative to said capture element.

The locking mechanism as claimed in claim 15 , wherein said latch has a functional surface, said capture element has a capture element surface, said capture element surface is located at a spaced location from said functional surface when the latch is in said locked state, said capture element surface engaging said functional surface in a crash state.

17. The locking mechanism as claimed in claim 16 , wherein said unlocking handle is pivotable about an unlocking handle axis, said at least said portion of said unlocking handle comprising an unlocking handle pin extending parallel to said unlocking handle axis.

18. The locking mechanism as claimed in claim 17 , wherein said unlocking handle pin engages said capture element.
