Method and apparatus for transmitting scheduling information in a wireless communication network
A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and a method for a WTRU to send scheduling information (SI) is disclosed. The SI may be sent in response to the having a non-zero grant smaller than needed to send a protocol data unit (PDU).
1. A method performed by a Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the method comprising:
triggering transmission of scheduling information (SI), from the WTRU to a Node-B, in response to the WTRU having a non-zero grant smaller than needed preventing the WTRU from sending a medium access control protocol data unit (PDU) of any of a plurality of scheduled medium access control-d (MAC-d) flows.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the SI is sent periodically.
3. The method of claim 2 , wherein a period for sending the SI is pre-configured.
4. The method of claim 2 , further comprising:
receiving an indication by the WTRU of a period of periodically triggering transmission of the SI.
5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the MAC-d flows are managed by a scheduling grant.
6. A Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising:
circuitry configured to trigger transmission of scheduling information (SI), from the WTRU to a Node-B, in response to the WTRU having a non-zero grant smaller than needed preventing the WTRU of transmission of a medium access control protocol data unit (PDU) of any of a plurality of scheduled medium access control-d (MAC-d) flows.
7. The WTRU of claim 6 , wherein the SI is sent periodically.
8. The WTRU of claim 7 , further comprising:
circuitry configured to receive an indication of a period of periodically sending the SI.
9. The WTRU of claim 6 , further comprising:
a processor configured to trigger transmission of the SI periodically using a pre-configured period.
10. The WTRU of claim 6 , wherein the MAC-d flows are managed by a scheduling grant.
