Abstract

An organic electroluminescent element containing an anode and a cathode having therebetween a light emitting layer, wherein the light emitting layer contains a guest compound having a substructure represented by the following Formula (A): wherein Ra represents alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, aromatic hydrocarbon, aromatic heterocyclic or heterocyclic, Rb and Rc represent hydrogen or a substituent, A1 represents a group of atoms which forms an aromatic hydrocarbon ring or an aromatic heterocycle, M represents Ir or Pt, and a host compound having the following Formula (1): wherein Ra 1 represents alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl or heterocyclic, R 1 , R 2 and R 5 each represent hydrogen or a substituent, and n1, n2 and n5 each represent 0 to 4.

Claims (18)

1. An organic electroluminescent element comprising an anode, a cathode and a light emitting layer disposed between the anode and the cathode, wherein the light emitting layer comprises (i) a guest compound selected from the group consisting of

wherein Ra represents an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aromatic hydrocarbon group, an aromatic heterocyclic group or a heterocyclic group, Rb and Rc each represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group, an aromatic hydrocarbon group, an alkoxy group and a halogen atom, and A1 represents a group of atoms necessary to form an aromatic hydrocarbon ring or an aromatic heterocycle,

and (ii) a host compound represented by the following Formula (1):

wherein Ra 1 represents a carbazolyl group, R 1 and R 2 each represent a phenyl group, a pyridyl group, a pyridazinyl group, a pyrimidinyl group, a pyrazinyl group, a triazinyl group, an imidazolyl group, a pyrazolyl group, a thiazolyl group, a quinazolinyl group or a phthalazinyl group, R 5 represents an alkyl group or an aromatic hydrocarbon group, and n1, n2 and n5 each represent an integer of 0 to 4, provided that n1 and n2 are not simultaneously 0.

2. The organic electroluminescent element of claim 1 , wherein A1 in Formula (A-1), Formula (A-2), Formula (A-3), Formula (A-4), Formula (A-5), Formula (A-6), Formula (A-7), Formula (A-8) and Formula (A-9) is the aromatic hydrocarbon ring which is a benzene ring.

3. The organic electroluminescent element of claim 1 which emits blue light.

4. The organic electroluminescent element of claim 1 which emits white light.

5. An organic electroluminescent element comprising an anode, a cathode and light emitting layer disposed between the anode and the cathode, wherein the light emitting layer comprises (i) a guest compound selected from the group consisting of

wherein Ra represents an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aromatic hydrocarbon group, an aromatic heterocyclic group or a heterocyclic group, Rb, Rc, Rb 1 and Rc 1 each represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent, and A1 represents a group of atoms necessary to form an aromatic hydrocarbon ring or an aromatic heterocycle,

and (ii) a host compound represented by the following Formula (1):

wherein Ra 1 represents a carbazolyl group, R 1 and R 2 each represent a phenyl group, a pyridyl group, a pyridazinyl group, a pyrimidinyl group, a pyrazinyl group, a triazinyl group, an imidazolyl group, a pyrazolyl group, a thiazolyl group, a quinazolinyl group or a phthalazinyl group, R 5 represents an alkyl group or an aromatic hydrocarbon group, and n1, n2 and n5 each represent an integer of 0 to 4, provided that n1 and n2 are not simultaneously 0.

6. An organic electroluminescent element comprising an anode, a cathode and a light emitting layer disposed between the anode and the cathode, wherein the light emitting layer comprises (i) a guest compound selected from the group consisting of

wherein Ra represents an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aromatic hydrocarbon group, an aromatic heterocyclic group or a heterocyclic group, Rb, and Rc each represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent, A1 represents a group of atoms necessary to form an aromatic hydrocarbon ring or an aromatic heterocycle,

and (ii) a host compound represented by the following Formula (1):

wherein Ra 1 represents a carbazolyl group, R 1 and R 2 each represent a phenyl group, a pyridyl group, a pyridazinyl group, a pyrimidinyl group, a pyrazinyl group, a triazinyl group, an imidazolyl group, a pyrazolyl group, a thiazolyl group, a quinazolinyl group or a phthalazinyl group, R 5 represents an alkyl group or an aromatic hydrocarbon group, and n1, n2 and n5 each represent an integer of 0 to 4, provided that n1 and n2 are not simultaneously 0.

7. The organic electroluminescent element of claim 1 , wherein in Formula (1), n 1 is an integer of 1 to 4, n2 is an integer of 1 to 4, and R 1 and R 2 each represent a phenyl group or a pyridyl group.

8. The organic electroluminescent element of claim 5 , wherein in Formula (1), n 1 is an integer of 1 to 4, n 2 is an integer of 1 to 4 and R 1 and R 2 each represent a phenyl group or a pyridyl group.

9. The organic electroluminescent element of claim 6 , wherein in Formula (1), n 1 is an integer of 1 to 4, n 2 is an integer of 1 to 4, and R 1 and R 2 each represent a phenyl group or a pyridyl group.
