Method for treating cannabinoid receptor related diseases with cannabinoid receptor ligands
View Patent ↗The present invention relates to thiophene containing compounds of formula (I) wherein m, n, p, q, r, s, R 1 , R 2 , and R 3 are as defined in the description. Included also are pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds, and methods for treating conditions and disorders using such compounds and pharmaceutical compositions.
1. A method for treating a disorder selected from the group consisting of inflammatory disorders, immune disorders, neurological disorders, cancers of the immune system, respiratory disorders, and cardiovascular disorders in a mammal in need thereof, comprising administering to the mammal a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of formula (I)
or a pharmaceutically suitable salt or prodrug thereof, wherein
is absent or is a bond;
m and n are each independently 0, 1 or 2;
p is 1 or 2;
q and r are each independently 0 or 1;
s is 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4;
R 1 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkylcarbonyl, cyano, cyanoalkyl, halo, haloalkyl, R 4 O 2 C—, R c R d NC(O)—, and R c R d NS(O) 2 —;
R 2 is selected from the group consisting of aryl, cycloalkyl, heteroaryl, heterocycle, —O(R h ), and R e R f N—;
R 3 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, haloalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, R 5 —C(O)—, R 5 —C(═N—OR p )—, R 6 OC(O)—, R g R j NC(O)—, R 5 —S(O) 2 —, and R g R j NS(O) 2 —;
R 4 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, arylalkyl, haloalkyl, heteroarylalkyl, and heterocyclealkyl;
R 5 , at each occurrence, is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, aryl, cycloalkyl, haloalkyl, heteroaryl, and heterocycle;
R 6 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, arylalkyl, haloalkyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, heterocyclealkyl, and heteroarylalkyl;
R c and R d , at each occurrence, are each independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl, or R c and R d together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached form a heterocyclic ring;
R e is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, and alkylcarbonyl;
R f is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl;
R g , at each occurrence, is independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, arylalkyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, haloalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, haloalkoxyalkyl, heteroarylalkyl, heterocyclealkyl, and heterocyclealkyl;
R j , at each occurrence, is independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, and haloalkyl;
R h is a cycloalkyl ring optionally substituted with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 substituents independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, halogen, hydroxy, alkoxy, haloalkyl, arylalkyl, heteroarylalkyl, cycloalkyl, and heterocyclealkyl; and
R p is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl.
