Abstract

An anode in which an anode active material layer is arranged on an anode current collector. The anode active material layer includes anode active material particles made of an anode active material including at least one of silicon and tin as an element. An oxide-containing film including an oxide of at least one kind selected from the group consisting of silicon, germanium and tin is formed in a region in contact with an electrolytic solution of the surface of each anode active material particle by a liquid-phase method such as a liquid-phase deposition method. The region in contact with the electrolytic solution of the surface of each anode active material particle is covered with the oxide-containing film, to thereby improve the chemical stability of the anode and the charge-discharge efficiency. The thickness of the oxide-containing film is preferably within a range from 0.1 nm to 500 nm both inclusive.

Claims (12)

1. An anode comprising:

an anode current collector; and

an anode active material layer arranged on the anode current collector,

wherein,

the anode active material layer includes a plurality of anode active material particles, each anode active material particle including silicon, tin, or both as an element, and

the anode active material includes a coating film including (a) an oxide of at least one kind selected from the group consisting of silicon, germanium and tin and (b) a halide of at least one kind selected from the group consisting of silicon, germanium and tin on at least an interior surface of each anode active material particle.

2. The anode according to claim 1 , wherein the halide includes a fluoride.

3. The anode according to claim 1 , wherein the coating film is formed by a liquid-phase deposition method or a sol-gel method.

4. The anode according to claim 1 , wherein the coating film includes a fluorine anion or a compound including fluorine and one kind selected from Group 13 to 15 elements.

5. The anode according to claim 1 , wherein the anode active material layer includes a metal including a metal element which is not alloyed with an electrode reactant in gaps between adjacent anode active material particles.

6. The anode according to claim 5 , wherein gaps between the anode active material particles are filled with the metal.

7. The anode according to claim 5 , wherein the metal element includes at least one kind selected from the group consisting of iron, cobalt, nickel, zinc and copper.
