Identifying collection images with special events
A method for associating event times or time periods with digital images in a collection for determining if a digital image is of interest, includes storing a collection of digital images each having an associated capture time; comparing the associated capture time in the collection with a special event time to determine if a digital image in the collection is of interest, wherein the comparing step includes calculation of a special event time associated with a special event based on the calendar time associated with the special event and using such information to perform the comparison step; and associating digital images of interest with the special event.
1. a method for enabling a plurality of different individuals to access particular digital images in a collection of digital images, comprising:
a) storing in memory data listing a plurality of special events, the special events recorded in a calendar;
b) storing a set of sharing lists of individuals, each sharing list derived from individuals invited to the special events as recorded in the calendar and each sharing list being associated with at least one special event from the plurality of special events and each sharing list having at least one different individual;
c) storing a collection of digital images each having an associated capture time;
d) providing a digital processor to use the associated capture times to select a subset of digital images from the collection of digital images that are associated with a particular special event;
e) using the digital processor to select a particular sharing list from the set of sharing lists that is associated with the particular special event; and
f) using the digital processor to determine the individuals included in the selected sharing list, and enabling only the individuals from the selected sharing list to access the subset of digital images associated with the particular special event.
2. The method of claim 1 , further including displaying the individuals included in the particular sharing list associated with the particular special event on a display.
3. The method of claim 2 , further including providing a user interface screen on the display to enable the individuals included in the particular sharing list to be approved or modified.
4. The method of claim 1 , further including sending an electronic communication to each individual on the particular sharing list to enable each individual to access the subset of digital images associated with the particular special event.
