Abstract

The invention provides compounds of formula Wherein R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , R 5 , R 6a , R 6b , R 6c , R 6d , R 6e and R 7 are defined in the specification. These compounds are useful as antibiotic agents.

Claims (18)

1. A biologically pure microorganism of Streptomyces hygroscopicus capable of producing one or more glycopeptides selected from the formulae

and which has been deposited under the Budapest Treaty with an accession number selected from NRRL 30439.

2. A biologically pure microorganism of Streptomyces hygroscopicus according to claim 1 wherein the accession number is NRRL 30439.

3. A biologically pure microorganism of Streptomyces hygroscopicus according to claim 1 wherein the accession number is NRRL 30440.

4. A biologically pure microorganism of Streptomyces hygroscopicus according to claim 1 wherein the accession number is NRRL 30441.

5. A biologically pure microorganism of Streptomyces hygroscopicus according to claim 1 wherein the accession number is NRRL 30442.

6. A biologically pure microorganism of Streptomyces hygroscopicus according to claim 1 wherein the accession number is NRRL 30443.

7. A biologically pure microorganism of Streptomyces hygroscopicus according to claim 1 wherein the accession number is NRRL 30444.

8. A biologically pure microorganism of Streptomyces hygroscopicus according to claim 1 wherein the accession number is NRRL 30445.

9. A biologically pure microorganism of Streptomyces hygroscopicus according to claim 1 wherein the accession number is NRRL 30446.

10. A biologically pure microorganism of Streptomyces hygroscopicus according to claim 1 wherein the accession number is NRRL 30447.

11. A biologically pure microorganism of Streptomyces hygroscopicus according to claim 1 wherein the accession number is NRRL 30448.

12. A biologically pure microorganism of Streptomyces hygroscopicus according to claim 1 wherein the accession number is NRRL 30449.

13. A biologically pure microorganism of Streptomyces hygroscopicus according to claim 1 wherein the accession number is NRRL 30450.

14. A biologically pure microorganism of Streptomyces hygroscopicus according to claim 1 wherein the accession number is NRRL 30451.
