Abstract

To provide a coating composition which is capable of improving an antireflection effect of a coating film and capable of forming such a coating film even at a low temperature and at a low cost, and an article which has a high antireflection effect and for which a substrate to be used is relatively unlimited and low in cost. A coating composition comprising a dispersion medium (a), fine particles (b) dispersed in the dispersion medium (a), and a terpene derivative (c) dissolved or dispersed in the dispersion medium (a); a coating composition comprising a dispersion medium (a) and fine particles (b) dispersed in the dispersion medium (a), wherein the dispersion medium (a) contains a compound (a1) which is insoluble or hardly soluble in water and has a hydroxyl group and/or a carbonyl group; and an article having a coating film made of such a coating composition.

Claims (15)

. A coating composition comprising a dispersion medium (a), fine particles (b) dispersed in the dispersion medium (a), and a terpene derivative (c) dissolved or dispersed in the dispersion medium (a).

. A coating composition comprising a dispersion medium (a) and fine particles (b) dispersed in the dispersion medium (a), wherein the dispersion medium (a) contains a compound (a1) which is insoluble or hardly soluble in water and has a hydroxyl group and/or a carbonyl group.

. The coating composition according to claim 1 , wherein the terpene derivative (c) has, in its molecule, at least one member selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyl group, an aldehyde group and a keto group.

. The coating composition according to claim 1 , wherein the amount of the terpene derivative (c) is from 0.1 to 20 parts by mass per 1 part by mass of the solid content of the coating composition.

. The coating composition according to claim 2 , wherein the amount of the compound (a1) is from 0.1 to 20 parts by mass per 1 part by mass of the solid content of the coating composition.

. The coating composition according to claim 1 , wherein the fine particles (b) have an average agglomerated particle size of from 3 to 500 nm.

. The coating composition according to claim 2 , wherein the fine particles (b) have an average agglomerated particle size of from 3 to 500 nm.

. The coating composition according to claim 1 , which further contains a binder (d).

. The coating composition according to claim 2 , which further contains a binder (d).

. The coating composition according to claim 8 , wherein the mass ratio of the fine particles (b) to the binder (d) (fine particles/binder) is from 9/1 to 1/9.

. The coating composition according to claim 9 , wherein the mass ratio of the fine particles (b) to the binder (d) (fine particles/binder) is from 9/1 to 1/9.

. An article comprising a substrate and a coating film obtainable from the coating composition as defined in claim 1 , formed on the substrate.

. An article comprising a substrate and a coating film obtainable from the coating composition as defined in claim 2 , formed on the substrate.

. The article according to claim 12 , wherein the substrate is a figured glass.

. The article according to claim 13 , wherein the substrate is a figured glass.
