SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FACILITATING SECURE TRANSACTIONS
A system for secure transactions receives an authorization request from a mobile device, the mobile device having received the authorization request by scanning a QR code and/or other encoded data. The system processes the authorization request using one or more transaction accounts that are paired to the mobile device, and transmits a response indicating approval or denial of the authorization request.
1 . A method comprising:
receiving, by a computer-based system for secure transactions and from a mobile device, a current location associated with the mobile device;
receiving, by the computer-based system, an authorization request from the mobile device, wherein the authorization request includes data that is based upon a quick response (QR) code, and wherein the mobile device acquires the QR code; and
authorizing, by the computer-based system, the authorization request based upon the current location and a transaction account that is paired to the mobile device.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising comparing, by the computer-based system, the current location to a previous location.
3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising declining, by the computer-based system, the authorization request in response to a previous location that is different than the current location.
4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising comparing, by the computer-based system, a time stamp associated with the current location to a time-stamp associated with a previous location.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising authorizing, by the computer-based system, the authorization request in response to a previous location that is different than the current location, wherein a time stamp associated with the previous location is different than a time stamp associated with the current location.
6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving, by the computer-based system, a merchant location associated with an offer.
7 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising transmitting, by the computer-based system, the offer and the merchant location to the mobile device based upon the QR code.
8 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising transmitting, by the computer-based system, the offer and the merchant location to a second merchant location associated with the QR code.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the mobile device acquires the QR code by scanning a display of the QR code.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the QR code is displayed by a merchant point of sale (POS) device.
11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the mobile device acquires the QR code from a product tag.
12 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising authenticating, by the computer-based system, a user of the mobile device to the mobile device prior to authorizing the authorization request.
13 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising authenticating, by the computer-based system, the mobile device to the transaction account prior to authorizing the authorization request.
14 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising pairing, by the computer-based system, a second transaction account to the mobile device.
15 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising prompting, by the computer-based system, a user to select either the transaction account or the second transaction account.
16 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising authorizing, by the computer-based system, the authorization request based upon the second transaction account and the current location.
17 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising transmitting, by the computer-based system, an authorization response to an email address associated with a user of the mobile device.
18 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising saving, by the computer-based system, a digital receipt of a transaction associated with the authorization request.
19 . An article of manufacture including a non-transitory, tangible computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by a computer-based system for secure transactions, cause the computer-based system to perform operations comprising:
receiving, by the computer-based system and from a mobile device, a current location associated with the mobile device;
receiving, by the computer-based system, an authorization request from the mobile device, wherein the authorization request includes data that is based upon a quick response (QR) code, and wherein the mobile device acquires the QR code; and
authorizing, by the computer-based system, the authorization request based upon the current location and a transaction account that is paired to the mobile device.
20 . A system comprising:
a tangible, non-transitory memory communicating with a processor for secure transactions,
the tangible, non-transitory memory having instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
receiving, by the processor and from a mobile device, a current location associated with the mobile device;
receiving, by the processor, an authorization request from the mobile device, wherein the authorization request includes data that is based upon a quick response (QR) code, and wherein the mobile device acquires the QR code; and
authorizing, by the processor, the authorization request based upon the current location and a transaction account that is paired to the mobile device.
