Abstract

A method for simultaneously transmitting packets to one or more users in a wireless communication system includes: generating the packets which include length information and are to be transmitted to the one or more users; and simultaneously transmitting the generated packets to the one or more users. The length information includes information representing a unit of the length information and information representing lengths of the packets according to the unit.

Claims (27)

1. A method for transmitting data in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

determining, by a transmitter, a number of data symbols for a data field;

generating, by the transmitter, the data field; and

transmitting, by the transmitter, a data packet including a signal field and the data field, the signal field indicating the number of data symbols for the data field,

wherein generating the data field comprises:

generating a data unit comprising a plurality of Aggregate-Medium Access Control Protocol Data Unit (A-MPDU) subframes;

adding a Medium Access Control (MAC) pad to the data unit to generate a padded unit; and

adding a physical pad to the padded unit to generate the data field,

wherein the MAC pad includes a first pad, a second pad, and a third pad sequentially, the first pad having a length of 0 to 3 bytes, the second pad having a length of a multiple of 4 bytes, and the third pad having a length of 0 to 3 bytes, and

wherein the physical pad has a length of 0 to 7 bits.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of A-MPDU subframes has a length of a multiple of 4 bytes except the last A-MPDU subframe.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein each A-MPDU subframe includes a delimiter, a MPDU, and zero or more pad bits.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the data packet is for Multi-User-Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO) transmission.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the number of data symbols for the data field is a maximum number of data symbols among data fields to be transmitted to users.

6. An apparatus configured to transmit data in a wireless communication system, the apparatus comprising:

a packet generation unit configured to determine a number of data symbols for a data field and generate the data field; and

a packet transmission unit configured to transmit a data packet including a signal field and the data field, the signal field indicating the number of data symbols for the data field,

wherein the packet generation unit is configured to generate the data field by:

generating a data unit comprising a plurality of Aggregate-Medium Access Control Protocol Data Unit (A-MPDU) subframes;

adding a Medium Access Control (MAC) pad to the data unit to generate a padded unit; and

adding a physical pad to the padded unit to generate the data field,

wherein the MAC pad includes a first pad, a second pad, and a third pad sequentially, the first pad having a length of 0 to 3 bytes, the second pad having a length of a multiple of 4 bytes, and the third pad having a length of 0 to 3 bytes,

wherein the physical pad has a length of 0 to 7 bits.

7. The apparatus of claim 6 , wherein each of the plurality of A-MPDU subframes has a length of a multiple of 4 bytes except the last A-MPDU subframe.

8. The apparatus of claim 6 , wherein each A-MPDU subframe includes a delimiter, a MPDU, and zero or more pad bits.

9. The apparatus of claim 6 , wherein the data packet is for Multi-User-Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO) transmission.

10. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the number of data symbols for the data field is a maximum number of data symbols among data fields to be transmitted to users.
