Abstract

An electromagnetic fuel injection valve comprising: a metallic cylindrical-shaped vessel provided at a tip end thereof with a fuel injection port, the other end thereof being closed by a stationary core provided centrally thereof with a through-hole; a movable member arranged between the stationary core and the fuel injection port and provided at a tip end thereof with a valve element, which opens and closes the fuel injection port, a maximum outside diameter of the movable member being smaller than a minimum inside diameter of the through-hole; and an electromagnetic drive mechanism that reciprocates the movable member.

Claims (17)

1. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve comprising:

a plunger having a valve element arranged to come into contact with a valve seat at a tip end thereof;

an anchor arranged for relative movement with respect to the plunger in a reciprocating direction;

a stationary core having a through-hole extending through the stationary core in an axial direction of the plunger to form a first fuel passage, the stationary core and the anchor generating a magnetic attracting force between them;

a coil configured to generate a magnetic flux in the magnetic circuit formed by the anchor and the stationary core by being energized;

a first spring arranged to urge the plunger in a valve closing direction; and

a second spring arranged to urge the anchor in a valve opening direction with an urging force smaller than that of the first spring;

wherein said plunger includes a fuel path that is opened at an end portion of the plunger opposite to the valve element and extends through an axial center of the plunger to communicate with a second fuel passage formed at a downstream side of the anchor.

2. The electromagnetic fuel injection valve according to claim 1 , wherein said fuel path of said plunger is provided at an inner side with respect to a sliding portion between the anchor and the plunger.

3. The electromagnetic fuel injection valve according to claim 1 , wherein a position at which the fuel path communicates with the second fuel passage formed at a downstream side of the anchor is located at an inner side of the second spring.

4. The electromagnetic fuel injection valve according to claim 1 , wherein the end portion of the plunger opposite to the valve element is inserted into the through-hole of the stationary core, and an inlet of the fuel path is positioned in the stationary core and on an upstream side in a fuel flow direction from the anchor.

5. The electromagnetic fuel injection valve according to claim 3 , wherein the anchor has a recess adapted to receive the second spring at an end face opposite to the stationary core, and a position at which the fuel path opens to the second fuel passage formed at a downstream side of the anchor is positioned in the recess.

6. The electromagnetic fuel injection valve according to claim 1 , wherein the anchor has a through-hole through which the plunger extends, and the plunger has a large diameter portion that is located on an upstream side with respect to the through-hole of the anchor and abuts against an end face of the anchor facing the stationary core.

7. The electromagnetic fuel injection valve according to claim 1 , further comprising a metallic, cylindrical-shaped vessel housing the stationary core, the anchor, the plunger and the second spring,

wherein said metallic cylindrical-shaped vessel includes a large diameter portion and a small diameter portion that is formed integrally with the large diameter portion of the same material, said coil is arranged on a side of an outer circumference surface of the large diameter portion, said stationary core is arranged on a side of an inner circumference surface of the large diameter portion, a spring seat for the second spring is provided on an inner circumference surface of the metallic cylindrical-shaped vessel, and said inner circumference surface is located on a side of the small diameter portion from the stationary core, and

wherein the second spring and the anchor are received in a space within the metallic cylindrical-shaped vessel partitioned by the spring seat and the stationary core.

8. The electromagnetic fuel injection valve according to claim 7 , wherein the plunger is structured such that it can be assembled through the through-hole of the stationary core.
