ONLINE MARKETPLACE PORTAL FOR CONTENT PUBLISHERS AND CONTENT CREATORS
An online marketplace portal enables the exchange of content and payments for content between content publishers and content creators, such as organizations and professional freelancers, respectively. The online portal allows publishers and creators to exchange exclusive content concepts and completed works through a dosed platform. Users can negotiate terms relating to access and rights to publish content, manage distribution of content, and process payment through the online portal. Content publishers can use the online marketplace portal to purchase syndicated content and manage relationships with freelancers.
1 . A system for license and distribution of content, comprising:
a server comprising a processor and a computer-readable medium;
an operating environment stored on the computer-readable medium and executing on the processor;
a network connection;
a content platform application operating on the processor, configured to perform tasks, comprising a database comprising at least one work for license; and
a feed platform application operating on the processor, configured to perform tasks, and communicating with at least one licensor content management computer system and at least one licensee content management computer system via the network connection.
2 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising a content authentication application operating on the processor.
3 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising a transaction authorization application operating on the processor.
4 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising a tax compliance application operating on the processor.
5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the feed platform application is further communicating with at least one editor content management computer system via the network connection.
6 . A method for licensing content online from a content provider, the method executing on a processor of a computer, comprising:
creating a licensee profile on a marketplace application operating on a processor residing on a server;
generating a list of content creators using the marketplace application;
selecting a licensor from the list of content creators;
receiving content from the licensor; and
submitting payment to the licensor.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein said list of content creators is generated by searching for content available for license.
8 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising submitting content to an editor via the marketplace application.
9 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising submitting a pitch to create a work to the marketplace application.
10 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising recommending a work for license,
11 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising ranking the list of content creators by preference.
12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising automating the selection of a highest-ranked content creator willing to agree to specific contract terms from the list of content creators.
13 . A method for licensing content online to a content licensee, the method executing on a processor of a computer, comprising:
creating a licensor profile on a marketplace application operating on a processor residing on a server;
creating a list of content available for license via marketplace application;
selecting licensing contract terms;
accepting an offer from a licensee;
submitting content to the licensee; and
receiving payment from the licensee.
14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the licensing contract terms are applicable to a pool of licensees.
15 . The method of claim 13 , wherein a restricted content is not viewable by a pool of restricted licensees.
16 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising creating content in response to a pitch to create a work in the marketplace application.
17 . A method for obtaining post-content creation services from an editor, the method executing on a processor of a computer, comprising:
creating a licensor profile on a marketplace application operating on a processor residing on a server;
generating a list of editors using the marketplace application;
selecting an editor from the list of editors;
submitting a created work to the editor;
receiving a modified work based on the created work from the editor; and
submitting payment to the editor.
18 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising ranking the list of editors by preference.
19 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising automating a selection of a highest-ranked editor willing to agree to specific contract terms from the list of editors.
20 . A method for providing post-content creation services to a publisher, the method executing on a processor of a computer, comprising:
creating an editor profile on a marketplace application operating on a processor residing on a server;
selecting licensing contract terms;
accepting an offer from a publisher;
receiving a work from the publisher;
modifying the work to create a modified work;
submitting the modified work to publisher; and
receiving payment from the publisher.
21 . The method of claim 20 , further comprising adding the work to a queue management database.
22 . A computer program product having computer-executable instructions for content licensing and related services, the instructions executing on a processor of a computer, comprising:
hosting a content platform application comprising a content database;
hosting a feed platform application comprising a profile database comprising at least one licensor profile and at least one licensee profile;
receiving content and storing the content in the content database;
providing a first interface by which a user can search through the content database;
providing a second interface by which the user can search through the profile database;
providing a third interface by which the user can execute an agreement with a second user;
sending content; and
distributing payment.
23 . The computer program product of claim 22 , wherein the profile database further comprises at least one editor profile.
