Abstract

A method of manufacturing a retrofit sleeve for a wind turbine blade, includes positioning at least a portion of a blade-shaped form in a mold; and applying a curable material to the space between the form and mold.

Claims (7)

1. A method of manufacturing a retrofit sleeve for a wind turbine blade having a body, comprising:

positioning at least a portion of the body having a first airfoil shape in a mold; and

applying a curable material to a space between the body and mold in order to form a sleeve, arranged on the body, having a second airfoil shape which is different from the first airfoil shape, and wherein the sleeve encloses a leading and trailing edge of the blade.

2. The method recited in claim 1 , wherein the applying step further comprises

coating the mold with a resin; and

wrapping the at least a portion of the body with a structural material.

3. The method recited in claim 2 , wherein the applying step further comprises drawing the resin into the structural material.
