Communications system including personal information token to store a personalized list and associated methods

1. An electronic device capable of communicating with a cellular network, the electronic device comprising:

a cellular device;

a wireless personal area network (WPAN) device; and

a processor coupled with said cellular device and said WPAN device configured to

receive at least one subscription key from a personal information token through said WPAN device based upon proximity therewith, subscribe said electronic device to the cellular network based upon the subscription key, and

associate said electronic device with at least one telephone number associated with the at least one subscription key when said electronic device is subscribed to the cellular network.

2. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein said processor is further configured to associate said electronic device with an email address associated with the subscription key when said electronic device is subscribed to the cellular network.

3. The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein said processor is further configured to store a primary subscription key, to subscribe said electronic device to the cellular network based upon the primary subscription key, and to associate said electronic device with an email address associated with the primary subscription key.

4. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein said processor is further configured to unsubscribe said electronic device from the cellular network based upon a lack of proximity with said personal information token.

5. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein said processor is further configured to receive a personal preference, via said WPAN device, based upon proximity with the personal information token; and wherein said processor is further configured to operate based upon the personal preference.

6. The electronic device of claim 5 , wherein the personal preference comprises at least one of a display appearance, a ringtone setting, or an application setting.

7. The electronic device of claim 5 , wherein the personal preference comprises at least one personalized list; further comprising a display coupled with said processor; and wherein said processor is configured to operate based upon the personalized list by displaying the at least one personalized list on said display.

8. The electronic device of claim 7 , wherein the at least one personalized list comprises at least one of a contacts list or a favorite web sites list.

9. The electronic device of claim 5 , wherein said processor is configured to reduce operation based upon one of the personal preference and passage of a period of time.

10. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein said personal information token is configured to enable operation of said electronic device.

11. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein said WPAN device comprises a wireless body area network (WBAN) transceiver.

12. A personal information token comprising:

d a processor and a WPAN device coupled therewith, the processor being configured to:

store at least one subscription key,

cause the WPAN device to wirelessly transmit the at least one subscription key to an electronic device based upon proximity therewith, said electronic device using the at least one subscription key to subscribe to a cellular network based upon the at least one subscription key, and

to associate said electronic device with a telephone number associated with the at least one subscription key when said electronic device is subscribed to the cellular network.

13. The personal information token of claim 12 , wherein said processor is further configured to associate said electronic device with a an email address associated with a primary subscription key.

14. The personal information token of claim 12 , wherein said processor is further configured to associate said electronic device with at least one e-mail address associated with the subscription key when said electronic device is subscribed to the cellular network.

15. The personal information token of claim 12 , wherein said processor is further configured to unsubscribe said electronic device from the cellular network based upon a lack of proximity with said electronic device.

16. A method for use by an electronic device comprising a cellular device and a wireless personal area network (WPAN) device coupled with a processor, the method comprising:

receiving at least one subscription key from an information token through the WPAN device based upon proximity therewith so that the processor, via the cellular device, subscribes the electronic device to a cellular network based upon the subscription key; and

associating the electronic device with at least one telephone number associated with the subscription key when the electronic device is subscribed to the cellular network, using the processor.

17. The method of claim 16 , further comprising associating the electronic device with an email address associated with the subscription key when the electronic device is subscribed to the cellular network, using the processor.

18. The method of claim 17 , further comprising storing a primary subscription key, subscribing the electronic device to the cellular network based upon the primary subscription key, and associating the electronic device with an email address associated with the primary subscription key, using the processor.

19. The method of claim 16 , further comprising unsubscribing the electronic device from the cellular network based upon a lack of proximity with the information token, using the processor.

20. The method of claim 16 , further comprising wirelessly receiving a personal preference, via the WPAN device, based upon proximity with the information token; and further comprising configuring the processor to operate based upon the personal preference.
