Abstract

Machine, method for use and method for making, and corresponding products produced thereby, as well as data structures, computer-readable media tangibly embodying program instructions, manufactures, and necessary intermediates of the foregoing, each pertaining to digital aspects of a computerized aggregation system. The system can include a user computer system interposed between a segment of a network allowing communication between the user computer system and at least one server system, and other segments allowing communication between the user computer system and a plurality of third party server systems. The one server system enables the user computer system to access the plurality of other servers. The access permits forming an aggregation of information obtained from the third party server systems.

Claims (122)

1. An aggregation apparatus, comprising:

a computer,

and networking hardware connecting the computer to the Internet, the computer programmed so that the aggregation apparatus:

presents an interface which enables a login by each of multiple users; and then

presents an interface which receives input from each of the users;

parses the input to produce aggregated content;

provides user-enabled content management to each of the users, and subject to said content management, produces an aggregation from the aggregated content;

executes user-defined rules to initiate an alert process so that a communication corresponding to the aggregation is sent to a recipient;

provides the aggregation as an update or message to multiple Internet sites or pages; and

renders the aggregation as output.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 , further including an output device controlled by the computer, and wherein the output is rendered via the output device.

3. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the communication includes the aggregation.

4. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the aggregation apparatus aggregates and displays communications of a user-selected contact or group of contacts.

5. The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the communication includes the aggregation.

6. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the communication is sent as an SMS message to the recipient.

7. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the communication is sent as a voice message to the recipient.

8. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein said aggregation comprises said input parsed from more than one of the users.

9. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the aggregation apparatus provides user-defined accessibility rules which protect some or all of the respective user's aggregated content.

10. The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the computer controls display of the output by acting as a website sending information to a web browser on a digital device where the display occurs.

11. The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the computer controls display of the output by rendering a web page that can then be displayed on a digital device where the display occurs.

12. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the input comprises photographs from the users.

13. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the input comprises videos from the users.

14. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the input comprises audio from the users.

15. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the input comprises scores from the users.

16. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the input comprises game-related information from the users.

17. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the input comprises location-related information from the users generated through use of GPS.

18. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the input comprises text from the users.

19. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the input comprises SMS messages from the users.

20. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the input comprises social status messages from the users.

21. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the input comprises at least two kinds of input, the kinds including photographs, videos, audio, scores, game-related information, text, SMS messages, social status messages, and information from the users generated through use of GPS.

22. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein a display of the aggregation is produced by aggregating on a server side of a client server system.

23. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein a display of the aggregation is produced by aggregating on a client side and on a server side of a client server system.

24. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the aggregation apparatus presents the interfaces via the Internet.

25. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the output is rendered via the Internet on a display of a computer system.

26. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the aggregation apparatus presents the interfaces via a mobile device.

27. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the output is rendered on a display of a mobile device.

28. The apparatus of claim 26 , wherein the output is rendered on a mobile device display.

29. An aggregation apparatus, comprising:

a computer,

and networking hardware connecting the computer to the Internet, the computer programmed so that the aggregation apparatus:

presents a mobile device interface which facilitates a login by each of multiple users; and then

presents a mobile interface which receives input from each of the users;

parses the input to produce aggregated content;

provides user-enabled content management to each of the users, and subject to said content management, produces an aggregation from the aggregated content;

executes user-defined rules to initiate an alert process so that a communication corresponding to the aggregation is sent to a recipient;

provides the aggregation as an update or message to multiple Internet sites or pages; and

renders the aggregation as output.

30. The apparatus of claim 29 , further including an output device controlled by the computer, and wherein the output is rendered via the output device.

31. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the communication includes the aggregation.

32. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the aggregation apparatus aggregates and displays communications of a user-selected contact or group of contacts.

33. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the communication includes the aggregation.

34. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the communication is sent as an SMS message to the mobile device.

35. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the communication is sent as a voice message to the mobile device.

36. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein said aggregation comprises said input parsed from more than one of the users.

37. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the aggregation apparatus provides user-defined accessibility rules which protect some or all of the respective user's aggregated content.

38. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the aggregation apparatus presents the interfaces via the Internet.

43. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the input comprises audio from the users.

44. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the input comprises scores from the users.

45. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the input comprises game-related information from the users.

46. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the input comprises location-related information from the users generated through use of GPS.

47. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the input comprises text from the users.

48. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the input comprises SMS messages from the users.

49. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the input comprises social status messages from the users.

50. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the input comprises at least two kinds of input, the kinds including photographs, videos, audio, scores, game-related information, text, SMS messages, social status messages, and information from the users generated through use of GPS.

51. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein a display of the aggregation is produced by aggregating on a server side of a client server system.

52. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein a display of the aggregation is produced by aggregating on a client side and on a server side of a client server system.

53. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the output is rendered on a display of a mobile device.

54. A method of using an aggregation apparatus, the method comprising: operating an aggregation apparatus comprising a computer and networking hardware connecting the computer to a network, such that that aggregation apparatus carries out the operations of:

presenting an interface which facilitates a login by each of multiple users;

presenting an interface which receives input from the users;

parsing the input to produce aggregated content;

providing user-enabled content management to each of the users, and subject to said content management, producing an aggregation from the aggregated content;

executing user-defined rules to initiate an alert process so that a communication corresponding to the aggregation is sent to a recipient;

providing the aggregation as an update or message to multiple Internet sites or pages; and

rendering the aggregation as output.

55. A method of using an aggregation apparatus, the method comprising:

operating an aggregation apparatus comprising a computer and networking hardware connecting the computer to a network, such that that aggregation apparatus carries out the operations of:

presenting a mobile device interface which facilitates a login by each of multiple users;

presenting a mobile device interface which receives input from the users;

parsing the input to produce aggregated content;

providing user-enabled content management to each of the users, and subject to said content management, produces an aggregation from the aggregated content;

executing user-defined rules to initiate an alert process so that a communication corresponding to the aggregation is sent to a recipient;

providing the aggregation as an update or message to multiple Internet sites or pages; and

rendering the aggregation as output.

56. A method of making an aggregation apparatus, the method comprising:

programming a computer of a computer system, the computer system comprising an output device and networking hardware to connect the computer to a network, with program instructions so that the aggregation apparatus:

presents an interface which facilitates a login by each of multiple users;

presents an interface which facilitates receiving input from each of the users;

parses the input to produce aggregated content;

provides user-enabled content management to each of the users, and subject to said content management, produces an aggregation from the aggregated content;

executes user-defined rules to initiate an alert process so that a communication corresponding to the aggregation is sent to a recipient;

provides the aggregation as an update or message to multiple Internet sites or pages; and

renders the aggregation as output.

57. A method of making an aggregation apparatus, the method comprising:

programming a computer of a computer system, the computer system comprising an output device and networking hardware to connect the computer to a network, with program instructions so that the aggregation apparatus:

presents a mobile device interface which facilitates a login by each of multiple users;

presents a mobile interface which receives input from each of the users;

parses the input to produce aggregated content;

provides user-enabled content management to each of the users, and subject to said content management, produces an aggregation from the aggregated content;

executes user-defined rules to initiate an alert process so that a communication corresponding to the aggregation is sent to a recipient;

provides the aggregation as an update or message to multiple Internet sites or pages; and

renders the aggregation as output.

58. Computer-readable media, tangibly embodying program instructions, which when executed, at an aggregation apparatus operably associated with networking hardware to connect the computer system to a network, will cause the aggregation apparatus to carry out the operations of:

presenting an interface which facilitates a login by each of multiple users;

presenting an interface which receives input from the users;

parsing the input to produce aggregated content;

providing user-enabled content management to each of the users, and subject to said content management, producing an aggregation from the aggregated content;

executing user-defined rules to initiate an alert process so that a communication corresponding to the aggregation is sent to a recipient;

providing the aggregation as an update or message to multiple Internet sites or pages; and

rendering the aggregation as output.

59. Computer-readable media, tangibly embodying program instructions, which when executed, operate at an aggregation apparatus operably associated with networking hardware to connect to a mobile phone network, will cause the aggregation apparatus to carry out the operations of:

presenting a mobile device interface which facilitates a login by each of multiple users;

presenting a mobile device interface which receives input from the users;

parsing the input to produce aggregated content;

providing user-enabled content management to each of the users, and subject to said content management, produces an aggregation from the aggregated content;

executing user-defined rules to initiate an alert process so that a communication corresponding to the aggregation is sent to a recipient;

providing the aggregation as an update or message to multiple Internet sites or pages; and

rendering the aggregation as output.
