Abstract

The invention provides methods for the treatment of diseases and conditions mediated by increased phosphorylation, such as inflammation and cancer. The invention also provides methods for the inhibition of increased phosphorylation in cells, tissues and organs. The methods utilize a phosphate acceptor compound (PAC). The invention also provides products comprising a PAC.

Claims (4)

1. A method to reduce the severity of eczema or a dermatitis mediated by increased phosphorylation in an animal comprising administering an effective amount of a partially dephosphorylated phosphate-acceptor compound (PAC) to said animal in need thereof, wherein the PAC is a phosvitin which is at least 10% to 70% dephosphorylated.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the phosvitin is chicken phosvitin.

3. The method of claim 2 wherein the phosvitin fragment thereof is at least about 90% dephosphorylated.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein the phosvitin fragment thereof is at least about 90% dephosphorylated.
