Abstract

An information processing device includes an operating unit, and a control unit for switching, when dragging is performed which is an operation to change a predetermined value via the operating unit, between changing the value by an amount equivalent to the amount of dragging, and setting a change speed of the value according to the dragging and continue to change the value at the change speed, according to the position of an ending point as to a starting point of the dragging.

Claims (44)

1. An information processing device comprising:

a control unit configured to switch, when a user operation to shift a pointing position is performed which is a dragging operation to change a predetermined value via an operating unit, between

changing the value by an amount corresponding to the amount of the user operation, and

setting a change speed of the value according to the user operation and continue to change the value at the change speed,

according to positions of an ending point and a starting point of the user operation,

where the control unit is implemented via a processor.

2. The information processing device according to claim 1 , wherein said control unit performs switching such that,

when the user operation ending point is within a predetermined range from the starting point, said value is changed by an amount corresponding to the amount of the user operation,

and when the user operation ending point is outside the predetermined range, the change speed of said value is set according to the user operation and the value is continuously changed with the change speed.

3. The information processing device according to claim 2 , wherein said control unit performs switching such that, upon said user operation, serving as an operation to increase/decrease a predetermined parameter, being performed,

when the user operation ending point is within a predetermined range from the starting point, the parameter is increased/decreased by an amount corresponding to the amount of the user operation,

and when the user operation ending point is outside the predetermined range, the increasing/decreasing speed of the parameter is set according to the user operation and the parameter continues to be increased/decreased at the increase/decrease speed.

4. The information processing device according to claim 2 , wherein said control unit performs switching such that, upon said user operation, serving as an operation to move the playing position of content, being performed,

when the user operation ending point is within a predetermined range from the starting point, the playing position is moved by an amount corresponding to the amount of the user operation,

and when the user operation ending point is outside the predetermined range, the moving speed of the playing position is set according to the user operation and the playing position continues to be moved at the moving speed.

5. The information processing device according to claim 2 , wherein said control unit performs switching such that, upon the user operation, serving as an operation to move the display position of a display item that is displayed on the display unit, being performed,

when the user operation ending point is within a predetermined range from the starting point, the display position is moved by an amount corresponding to the amount of the user operation,

and when the user operation ending point is outside the predetermined range, the moving speed of the display position is set according to the user operation and the display position continues to be moved at the moving speed.

6. The information processing device according to claim 1 , wherein said control unit effects control such that,

when, following changing said values by an amount corresponding to the amount of the user operation, switching is made so as to set the change speed of said value according to the user operation and continue to change said value at the change speed, said value continues to change at the change speed from said value immediately preceding the switching, and

when, following setting the change speed of said value according to the user operation and said value continues to change with the change speed, switching is made so as to change said value by an amount corresponding to the amount of the user operation, said value changes by an amount corresponding to the amount of the user operation from said value immediately preceding the switching.

7. The information processing device according to claim 2 , wherein said control unit displays on a display unit a cursor that links said user operation starting point and ending point according to said user operation.

8. The information processing device according to claim 7 , wherein said control unit displays information indicating said predetermined range near said cursor on the display unit.

The information processing device according to claim 7 , wherein said control unit, in the event of setting the change speed of said values according to said user operation, causes the direction from one edge portion of the cursor serving as said user operation starting point side to the other edge portion of said cursor serving as said user operation ending point to be the direction of said cursor, and sets the change speed of said value according to the direction and length of the cursor.

10. The information processing device according to claim 7 , wherein the cursor has a shape that tapers from one end of the cursor to another end of the cursor.

11. The information processing device according to claim 1 , wherein,

at a start of the user operation and while the position of the ending point of the user operation is at a distance from the starting point of the user operation that is less than a predetermined threshold, the changing of the predetermined value is performed by changing the value by an amount corresponding to the amount of the user operation, and

when the position of the ending point of the user operation is at a distance from the starting point of the user operation that is equal to or greater than the predetermined threshold, the changing of the value is performed by setting the change speed of the value and continuing to change the value at the change speed.

12. The information processing device according to claim 11 , wherein the changing of the value is further performed by setting the change speed of the value as a constant rate.

13. The information processing device according to claim 11 , wherein the changing of the predetermined value is further performed by setting the change speed of the value based on the distance of the position of the ending point from the starting point of the user operation.

14. The information processing device according to claim 1 , wherein the ending point is a current touch position after the user operation has started.

15. The information processing device according to claim 1 , wherein the value is changed in a direction based on a position of the ending point relative to the starting point of the user operation.

16. The information processing device according to claim 15 , wherein the value is changed in one of an increasing direction and a decreasing direction.

17. The information processing device according to claim 1 , wherein a type of the value being changed is based on a direction of a position of the ending point relative to the starting point of the user operation.

18. The information processing device according to claim 1 , wherein the dragging operation is performed across the operating unit.

19. An information processing method, comprising:

switching, when a user operation to shift a pointing position is performed which is a dragging operation to change a predetermined value via an operating unit, between

changing the value by an amount corresponding to the amount of the user operation, and

setting a change speed of the value according to the user operation and continue to change the value at the change speed,

according to positions of an ending point and a starting point of the user operation.

20. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having embodied thereon a program, which when executed by a computer, causes the computer to perform an information processing method, the method comprising:

switching, when a user operation to shift a pointing position is performed which is a dragging operation to change a predetermined value via an operating unit, between

changing the value by an amount corresponding to the amount of the user operation, and

setting a change speed of the value according to the user operation and continue to change the value at the change speed, according to positions of an ending point and a starting point of the user operation.
