Methods for delivering a prosthesis to a site in a body
View Patent ↗An endoprosthesis cover may be attached to the distal end of a delivery device. The cover may be generally cylindrical in shape and may have a lumen through it. An endoprosthesis may then be covered as it is delivered to a treatment site.
1. A medical device, comprising:
a tubular body, comprising
a fixed diameter proximal section defining a proximal lumen, and
a radially expandable distal section defining a distal lumen, an open proximal end, and an open distal end; and
a coil disposed within the proximal lumen and advancable relative to the tubular body,
wherein the proximal lumen is in communication with the distal lumen, and
wherein the distal section is configured to radially expand as the coil is advanced through the proximal lumen and into the distal lumen.
2. The medical device of claim 1 , wherein the coil is slidably disposed within the proximal lumen.
3. The medical device of claim 1 , wherein the proximal section is a catheter.
4. The medical device of claim 1 , further comprising a pusher wire attached to a distal end of the coil, wherein the pusher wire is configured to advance the coil distally relative to the tubular body.
