WEARABLE DEVICE DATA SECURITY
Techniques for wearable device data security are described, including receiving input from one or more sensors coupled to a wearable device, each of the one or more sensors being configured to measure one or more parameters, processing the input to determine a pattern, referencing a pattern library using the pattern to identify a signature, and transforming the signature into data to be transmitted to a device in data communication with the wearable device and configured to perform a function if the data is authenticated.
1 . A method, comprising:
receiving input from one or more sensors coupled to a wearable device, each of the one or more sensors being configured to measure one or more parameters;
processing the input to determine a pattern;
referencing a pattern library using the pattern to identify a signature; and
transforming the signature into data to be sent to a device in data communication with the wearable device and configured to perform a function if the data is authenticated.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the one or more sensors is coupled to the wearable device remotely using a data communication link.
3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising using a data communication link to send the data from the wearable device to the device.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the signature is configured to identify a user based on evaluating the one or more parameters.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein processing the input further comprises generating a signature based on evaluating the input, the input comprising a motion detected at a location.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the one or more parameters is gait.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the one or more parameters is a physiological condition.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the one or more parameters is associated with electrical conductance of skin.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the one or more sensors is configured to measure temperature.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one or more of the sensors is configured to measure one or more parameters associated with a voice.
11 . The method of claim 1 wherein at least one of more of the sensors is configured to measure a heart rate.
12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the function further comprises performing a transaction based on authenticating the data.
13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the function further comprises performing a financial transaction.
14 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the input comprises detecting a proximity of the wearable device to the device.
15 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the input comprises detecting a proximity of the wearable device to the device, the wearable device being a data-capable strapband and the device being configured to pair with the wearable device when the data is authenticated.
16 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the input is a motion that is configured to initiate a pairing between the wearable device and the device.
17 . A system, comprising:
a memory configured to store data associated with a wearable device; and
a processor configured to receive input from one or more sensors coupled to a wearable device, each of the one or more sensors being configured to measure one or more parameters, to process the input to determine a pattern, to reference a pattern library using the pattern to identify a signature, and to transform the signature into data to be sent to a device in data communication with the wearable device and configured to perform a function if the data is authenticated.
18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein at least one of the one or more sensors is coupled to the wearable device remotely using a data communication link.
19 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the wearable device is a data-capable strapband.
20 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the function comprises sending an award to an account associated with the wearable device.
21 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the function comprises disabling a physical security device.
22 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the function comprises enabling a physical security device.
23 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the wearable device is in near field communication with the device.
24 . A computer program product embodied in a computer readable medium and comprising computer instructions for:
receiving input from one or more sensors coupled to a wearable device, each of the one or more sensors being configured to measure one or more parameters;
processing the input to determine a pattern;
referencing a pattern library using the pattern to identify a signature; and
transforming the signature into data to be sent to a device in data communication with the wearable device and configured to perform a function if the data is authenticated.
25 . The computer program product of claim 24 , wherein at least one of the one or more sensors is coupled to the wearable device remotely using a data communication link.
26 . The computer program product of claim 24 , further comprising using a data communication link to transmit the data from the wearable device to the device.
