Abstract

Method for placing and manufacturing a dental superstructure, method for placing implants, and accessories used in these methods.

Claims (7)

1. A method for manufacturing a dental drill jig, wherein said dental drill jig comprises a contact part and at least one duct, the contact part including a portion extending on a lingual and a buccal side of a jaw and having a 360° through hole aligned with a guiding tube in the form of a collar, the collar making up one piece together with the contact part of the drill jig, the collar comprising a lateral opening extending upwards from the through hole and the collar being adapted for lateral insertion of the drill, said method comprising the step of computer planning the lateral opening of said dental drill jig, wherein said computer planning is made by scanning a tooth and/or jaw of a patient, or a model thereof, to obtain data concerning the patient, simulating a position of a dental implant within the patient using said data, and constructing a digital model of said dental drill jig, including said duct comprising said lateral opening, based on said data and/or said position of the implant.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein said collar comprises an opening which is provided with a thread on the inside.

3. The method according to claim 2 , wherein said thread is provided on the inside of a bush which is fixed into the opening of said collar.

4. The method of claim 2 , further comprising providing a set of bushes, whereby the bushes have the same outer diameter but different internal diameters, and each of the bushes comprise an external thread corresponding to the internal thread of the opening of said collar.

5. The method of claim 1 , in which the computer planning is made with regard to the positioning of one or more implants and the drill jig is made on the basis of said computer planning.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the computer planning is made by scanning a patient with a computed tomography scanner to produce a CT-scan and simulating the implants on the CT-scan.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein said drill jig is manufactured using CAD/CAM techniques.
