Abstract

A method for targeting one or more users. User interaction with a wireless application is monitored. Information based on the user interaction is analyzed. Based on the analysis, one or more customizations of the application are determined in order to target users. The customizations are dynamically applied to the application.

Claims (35)

1 . A method executed by a processor, the method comprising:

monitoring user input associated with a first application and a second application on a wireless device;

analyzing the user input to detect a behavior pattern associated with a user's use of the applications;

determining a customization of the first application based on the behavior pattern; and

dynamically customizing the first application based on the customization.

2 - 20 . (canceled)

21 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the dynamically customizing adds an advertisement to the first application based on the behavior pattern.

22 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the applications are executed on a server and rendered on a wireless device.

23 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the first application is a generic application customized for display according to a capability of the wireless device.

24 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the dynamically customizing rearranges an order of information presented by the wireless device.

25 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the dynamically customizing includes dynamically customizing a dynamic toolbar.

26 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the dynamically customizing of the first application includes presenting a splash screen including an advertisement for a third application related to the first application.

27 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the dynamically customizing includes adding a third application to a wireless account associated with the user.

28 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the monitoring user input includes monitoring a number of times a user repeats an action associated with the application.

29 . A non-transitory processor-readable medium comprising code representing instructions to cause a processor to:

receive a first plurality of requests associated with user navigation of a first application executing on a wireless device;

receive a second plurality of requests associated with user navigation of a second application executing on the wireless device;

analyze the first plurality of requests and the second plurality of requests to dynamically define a behavior pattern;

select a targeted advertisement based on the behavior pattern; and

present the targeted advertisement in the application.

30 . The non-transitory processor-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the targeted advertisement is a short message service (SMS) message.

31 . The non-transitory processor-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the targeted advertisement is an advertisement for a third application configured to be executed on the wireless device.

32 . The non-transitory processor-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the wireless device is a first wireless device, and the first application is a first instance of the first application, the non-transitory processor-readable medium further comprising code representing instructions to cause the processor to:

receive a third plurality of requests associated with user navigation of a second instance of the first application executing on a second wireless device,

the code representing instructions to cause the processor to analyze including code representing instructions to cause the processor to analyze the first plurality of requests and the third plurality of requests to dynamically define the behavior pattern.

33 . The non-transitory processor-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the code representing instructions to cause the processor to analyze includes code representing instructions to cause the processor to analyze the first plurality of requests and the second plurality of requests to determine a type of advertisement to which a user of the first application most frequently responds.

34 . A system for selecting advertisements, comprising

a monitoring module configured to monitor user input to a first client application and a second client application, the first client application and second client application executing activity on a wireless device;

an advertising library module configured to provide access to a plurality of advertisements;

an activity analyzing module configured to determine, based on the user input to the client to the first client application and the second client application, a behavior pattern;

an advertisement selection module configured to select an advertisement from the plurality of advertisements based on the behavior pattern, the advertisement from the plurality of advertisements; and

an application customization module configured to dynamically tailor the first client application to include the advertisement from the plurality of advertisements.

35 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the advertisement includes a link.

36 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the behavior pattern includes a type of really simple syndication (RSS) feeds accessed using the wireless device.

37 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the advertisement includes a pop up message.
