Abstract

Methods are provided for preparation of compositions having an enhanced level of soluble alloxazine, as compared to compositions prepared using conventional techniques. Compositions and a riboflavin form having higher solubility in solution is also provided.

Claims (8)

1 . A composition for treating a blood product comprising:

between about 150 μM and about 580 μM soluble alloxazine; and

a monovalent salt.

2 . The composition of claim 1 wherein the soluble alloxazine is a concentration of about 580 μM.

3 . The composition of claim 1 wherein the alloxazine is riboflavin.

4 . The composition of claim 1 further comprising sodium bicarbonate.

5 . The composition of claim 1 wherein the composition has a pH of from about 4 to about 5.

6 . The composition of claim 1 wherein the monovalent salt provides a salinity of at least 0.9%.
