Abstract

A computer-implemented system and method for enabling social interactive wireless communication between at least two mobile devices is presented. In particular, the system and method comprises affiliating and/or synchronizing a first mobile device and a second mobile device with an interactive social network. Further, the present invention comprises associating at least one first social interactive pairing criterion with the first mobile device, and associating at least one second social interactive pairing criterion with a second mobile device. Upon disposition of the first and second mobile devices in a physical and/or geographic proximity to one another, the present invention further comprises determining whether the first and second social interactive pairing criterion at least partially coincide with one another, and establishing a communication channel between the first and second mobile devices for communication therebetween.

Claims (49)

1. A method, comprising:

determining a reference location corresponding to a first mobile device having a first interactive pairing criteria associated therewith;

issuing, responsive to a second mobile device retaining a second interactive pairing criteria being geographically positioned within a predetermined geographic distance from the reference location, a first query to a person via an output interface of the second device;

determining whether an answer received responsive to issuing the first query matches an interactive pairing criterion of the first interactive pairing criteria;

ending a query session responsive to the answer not matching the interactive pairing criterion of the first interactive pairing criteria;

issuing, responsive to the answer matching the interactive pairing criterion of the first interactive pairing criteria, a second query to determine whether the first interactive pairing criteria and the second interactive pairing criteria at least partially coincide with one another; and

outputting, using a display of the first mobile device, information corresponding to the second mobile device responsive to determining that the first interactive pairing criteria and the second interactive pairing criteria at least partially coincide with one another.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining a first geographic location of the first mobile device.

3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising determining a second geographic location of the second mobile device.

4. The method of claim 2 , wherein the first geographic location of the first mobile device is determined using a global positioning system.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving a selection of the predetermined geographic distance.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising establishing a communication channel between the first mobile device and the second mobile device responsive to receiving a selection.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the communication channel between the first mobile device and the second mobile device is established via a peer-to-peer network.

8. The method of claim 6 , wherein the communication channel between the first mobile device and the second mobile device is established via a social network to which the first mobile device and the second mobile device are both connected.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first query is issued via a social network to which the first mobile device and the second mobile device are both connected.

10. The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving a pre-established profile associated with the second mobile device upon the determination that the first interactive pairing criteria and the second interactive pairing criteria at least partially coincide with one another.

11. The method of claim 1 , wherein outputting, using the display of the first mobile device, information corresponding to the second mobile device responsive to determining that the first interactive pairing criteria and the second interactive pairing criteria at least partially coincide with one another further comprises displaying on the display a map having a marker to indicate a location of the second mobile device.

12. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second query comprises a plurality of successive queries to the second mobile device.

13. A first mobile device comprising:

a display; and

a processing device coupled to the display, wherein the processing device is configured to:

associate a first interactive pairing criteria with the first mobile device;

determine a reference location corresponding to the first mobile device;

issue, responsive to a second mobile device retaining a second interactive pairing criteria being geographically positioned within a predetermined geographic distance from the reference location, a first query to a person via an output interface of the second device;

determine whether an answer receive responsive to issuing the first query matches an interactive pairing criterion of the first interactive pairing criteria;

end a query session responsive to the answer not matching the interactive pairing criterion of the first interactive pairing criteria;

issue, responsive to the answer matching the interactive pairing criterion of the first interactive pairing criteria, a second query to determine whether the first interactive pairing criteria and the second interactive pairing criteria at least partially coincide with one another; and

output, using the display, information corresponding to the second mobile device responsive to determining that the first interactive pairing criteria and the second interactive pairing criteria at least partially coincide with one another.

14. The first mobile device of claim 13 , wherein the processing device is further configured to determine a first geographic location of the first mobile device.

15. The first mobile device of claim 14 , wherein the processing device is further configured to determine a second geographic location of the second mobile device.

16. The first mobile device of claim 14 , wherein the first geographic location of the first mobile device is determined using a global positioning system.

17. The first mobile device of claim 13 , wherein the processing device is further configured to receive a selection of the predetermined geographic distance.

18. The first mobile device of claim 13 , wherein the processing device is further configured to establish a communication channel between the first mobile device and the second mobile device.

19. The first mobile device of claim 18 , wherein the communication channel between the first mobile device and the second mobile device is established via a peer-to-peer network.

20. The first mobile device of claim 18 , wherein the communication channel between the first mobile device and the second mobile device is established via a social network to which the first mobile device and the second mobile device are both connected.

21. The first mobile device of claim 13 , wherein the first query is issued via a social network to which the first mobile device and the second mobile device are both connected.

22. The first mobile device of claim 13 , wherein the processing device is further configured to obtain a pre-established profile associated with the second mobile device upon the determination that the first interactive pairing criteria and the second interactive pairing criteria at least partially coincide with one another.

23. The first mobile device of claim 13 , wherein the processing device is further configured to display a map having a marker to indicate a location of the second mobile device.

24. The first mobile device of claim 13 , wherein the second query comprises a plurality of successive queries to the second mobile device.

25. An apparatus, comprising:

means for determining a reference location corresponding to a first mobile device having a first interactive pairing criteria associated therewith;

means for issuing, responsive to a second mobile device retaining a second interactive pairing criteria being geographically positioned within a predetermined geographic distance from the reference location, a first query to a person via an output interface of the second device;

means for determining whether an answer received responsive to issuing the first query matches an interactive pairing criterion of the first interactive pairing criteria;

means for ending a query session responsive to the answer not matching the interactive pairing criterion of the first interactive pairing criteria;

means for issuing, responsive to the answer matching the interactive pairing criterion of the first interactive pairing criteria, a second query to determine whether the first interactive pairing criteria and the second interactive pairing criteria at least partially coincide with one another; and

means for outputting, using the first mobile device, information corresponding to the second mobile device responsive to determining that the first interactive pairing criteria and the second interactive pairing criteria at least partially coincide with one another.

26. The apparatus of claim 25 , further comprising means for establishing a communication channel between the first mobile device and the second mobile device responsive to receiving a user selection.

27. The apparatus of claim 25 , further comprising means for determining a first geographic location of the first mobile device.

28. The apparatus of claim 27 , further comprising means for determining a second geographic location of the second mobile device.
